I watched the episode and thought of sharing what was shown and said:
Akbar is considered the first person to bring the perspective of unified India with tolerance to other religions and practices. First taste of a unified country and celebrated unity in diversity was considered to be under his rule.
Akbar's openness to other religions can be seen in the architecture. Different elements or traditions of schools of architecture were portrayed on the outer walls of buildings in Fatehpur Sikri.
Paintings of ambitious scenes were encouraged such as spectacle of court life and one that of Akbar taming a wild elephant. It said that Akbar and Mogul rulers were patrons of art that exemplified the use of art to portray Indian art's verve and dynamism with the use of space and perspective. The Monarchs recruited artists from various parts of India, Turkey, central Asia to amalgamate Islamic design with Indian architecture.
The snippet of the movie JA was shown and commented of how Akbar accepted as a hero is perceived and was a great success due to his hindu wife Jodha Bai.
This is very nice review for those keen to see it. I think it is worth a watch. For more info on Akbar in documentary format, please watch the BBC Series, The Story of India,Ep-Meeting of two oceans. It has wonderful info on Akbar and his reign.
