Aneek, how abt singing only classical?

Aneek, if you visit this forum, please consider this request to become a pure classical singer. You have such a solid foundation. Please don't waste it in singing songs composed by some MDs who have half your ability and will not contribute to your knowledge in any way. Learn from the masters.

Don't just think of the money you will make in singing for films.

Nowadays, there are very few youngsters going for a career in pure classical singing. If you do it, you will be one the few ones and let me assure you, many youngsters will go to listen to you at concerts - you already have a fan base. Shastriya Sangeet will get a big fillip if you decide to make it your career. There is a big vacuum waiting to be filled.

Just think of the impact, when after this SRGMP contest, you announce that you will focus only on classical singing!

I also think even Poonam, & Raja could follow the same line if they choose to do so.
In fact i had expressed similar thoughts about Poonam in this thread

Well, if someone can pass the message, I will be grateful. He will be wasted in the film and glamour world. He must make a mark in classical singing.

I totally agree Sahana. His tarana in Laga Chunri mein daag was just divine, and left me speechless for a while. I have seen some of the episodes of Bengali SRGM, and I must say that Aneek did not get to display 40% of his singing potential in this contest. He has sung some of the most difficult songs in Bengali. It is all because of all the genre (Johnar) crap by my Himmy Bhaiyya.

People go to Kolkata to learn classical music. Aneek is already based there which is a huge advantage. He just needs to continue his training and not get swayed by all the crap of the movie world. There are enough singers available to sing movie songs. Aneek needs to realise where he is needed.

This a talent hunt designed to hunt down only filmy style singers and their talent. The very fact that they have taken part in this talent hunt is an indication that their dream is filmy style sining. This talent hunt is not going to give us any indication of our classical talents in our country.

I can confidently say that if a talent hunt is held tomorrow which is meant only for classical singing there won't be any shortage of participants there and it will throw out much more dazzling dedicated wizards than the part time wizards showing their occasional classical wizardry. The ones whose aim is to become classical singer will always find filmy singing too light and they need to practice only classical singing.
