I can confidently say that if a talent hunt is held tomorrow which is meant only for classical singing there won't be any shortage of participants there and it will throw out much more dazzling dedicated wizards than the part time wizards showing their occasional classical wizardry. The ones whose aim is to become classical singer will always find filmy singing too light and they need to practice only classical singing.

The idea of having a special talent hunt ONLY for classical singing sounds very good to me.

For those with good voices there is no necessity to sing classical songs because the money is in the popular song category. We do not get Michael Jackson to sing opera ! How ridiculous. So with Aneek Jackson too. 😆

The rest with whose voces are not so good can sing classical and hide the flaws or deformities in their voice box, by giving extra alabs and unnecessary variations and deviations to a simple straightfoward songs. 😆 😆 😆

What's your point? Aneek is not Michael Jackson for your info, though his hysterical mentor is a self-proclaimed rock star.

Could not get your point about not-so-good-voices being able to sing classical better. Never heard anything this ridiculous.

Sorry if confusing but Aneek will do very well by singing popular songs although he has the talent to sing any kind of songs. It seems that personally he prefers a mix of both modern sounds and romantic numbers.

I think Aneek will not do so well singing film songs at this stage because his voice still sounds like that of a youngster who has not really reached manhood. His voice when imposed on actors like Shahrukh etc wouldn't look so impressive.

However, he can do wonders with classical singing. He has the foundation and he needs to just build on it with the help of masters. His classical concerts might even pull crowds. My opinion.

I am of the opinion, now that he has got exposure through a powerful platform whatever he chooses to do will meet with success. He is immensely talented which didn't get deserving exposure courtesy his mentor🤢. It would be up to him to decide what he exactly wants to pursue. He still needs to wait until his voice matures a bit more even for classical singing. Whether it is film music or classical, it is tough to get a footing. If money is what he desires then there is nothing like film music and he can continue with his sadhna in classical music. At least he will have something to fall back on.

Of course, his voice needs to mature even for singing in classical concerts, but doing rigorous riyaaz will take him closer to the goal.

My contention is that there are many many wannabes in film-music singing and they will keep emerging in future SRGMP and VOI contests too. Clones of Sonu Nigam, Udit Narayan, Kishore, Rafi and so on will keep coming into Hindi films.

If celebrity youngsters go into classical singing where there is a vacuum at the moment, there will be more youngsters emulating them. Shastriya Sangeet needs them.
