I don't think what she said is wrong at all, but she could've worded it better. Just say you're a damn feminist and that's why you feel the way the way you do. That would've sounded much better. Going like, "I don't think I'm an overt feminist," almost makes it sound like being openly feminist is negative or wrong in some way - which I don't think she intended to do.

Otherwise, I agree with her. 👍🏼

If she does NOT want to talk about Ranbir who was releasing those constant articles about them buying property together. Meeting each others parents.

_______________

I just think she was meaning to say she doesnt assert her feminism in a militant way but she does put her foot down as a woman who feels slighted if the only thing journos feel important to ask her is about who she is seeing.

why would she start family at this stage ? 😕
let others who are older than her and married start families pehle. womens kaam is not to produce babies only.

Well according to some here, they think they are her rishtadaar and has a cetain responsibility towards her to see her get married and have babies.. Also they all feel she is older than what she claims to be, as if they baby sit her or were the midwife when she was born.. People forget thats its #HerChoice when she wants to settle down or have babies.. #IFLogic

She said overtly feminist. I guess she's trying to detach herself from the negative connotations.

The word feminist might have started out to be used with seeking equality for women, but it has been used wrongly in many cases.

On a personal front I hate the word, I link it to sexism against men. I know it's wrong because there are so many feminists who might just want equality but there are also a lot who abuse it. For example I'm Asian and kind of traditional, so I dress in a way to cover myself, in a debate a woman said I shouldn't dress like that because I'm being oppressed, because my culture and religion imposes it on women and it's not feminist. I said it's a choice I made, and she's trying to opress me instead my making me into what she thinks women should be like. Her idea of feminism was based on her ideals and that didn't sound feminist to me at all, that women can't even decide what to wear because others think it's oprssesing. I think that's what's wrong with the word, people attach their ideals to it.

So what I simply like saying is I want equality for all, I don't feel like I need to say I want equality for women. Simply the fact the word is feminist doesn't sound like it's achieving equality, sexism right in the name.

yes. katrina doesnt come across as an aggressive womans rights crusader but she lives her life as an independent minded, assertive person. she has very strong views on what she likes and doesnt and doesnt kow tow to any pressure outside who try to manipulate her.
Which is probably why men respect her. And she isnt the darling of media.
