~ CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE ~

Dhruv groped his aching tummy, leaned far back onto his chair and laughed his heart out. "Stop!" he begged through tears of laughter. "No more! Please! Stop! Oh my God! I can't breathe!"

Khushi too was grinning from ear to ear. "Arre! Look at you! Laughing like a lunatic! So just imagine how I felt at that time. I was so stunned when I saw him like that!"

Dhruv was redder than a beet as he struggled to catch his breath. "Stop! Oh God! I don't believe this! This is too much! Hahahahahahaha!"

Arnav's furious growl was enough to snap Dhruv and Khushi out of their wonderland. "If you guys are done with your chit-chat session then do let me know. Because Your Excellencies are kindly requested to present yourselves in the conference room for an important meeting."

The minute Khushi looked into his red glowering eyes, she knew that she was in big trouble! Oh great, now this was all what was needed. A situation which would make this terrorist think that I shared his... Ugh... whatever with Dhruv... Wow! I should be so happy! Now my day is complete!

"So if you may please," said Arnav with a sarcastic bow.

Khushi felt her guts churn violently at the look on his face. His nostrils flared as he seemed to be gnashing his teeth behind clenched lips and his jaw throbbed visibly!

"Guys," Cabir called for everyone's attention as he picked up his notepad and headed to the conference room, "come on. Let's move it. Meeting. Conference room."

Mukti got up from her workstation and tagged along with Cabir while Dhruv wasted no time in taking cover right behind the other two and slithering away to safety. Just as Khushi was about to follow their cue, someone blocked her path. Arnav Singh Raizada.

She felt cornered in front of his towering figure and wished that the others wouldn't have left so soon. His face was distorted into an ugly scowl and he had that murderous glint in his eyes. "Had fun?" he asked in a low but harsh voice.

Khushi's eyes were wide with horror. She opened her mouth to justify herself but Arnav stopped her with a wave of his hand. "I warned you," he snarled, "I warned you and yet you dared to mess with me. Now just wait and see how I deal with you."

The HR meeting comprised of six members - Mukherjee, Arnav, Cabir, Dhruv, Mukti and Khushi went forward pretty uneventfully. They discussed about the current state of the company, its issues and resolutions.

Throughout the meeting, unnoticed by Khushi, Arnav kept observing her from the corner of his eyes. She knew his secret. Shameful secret. And he was at risk of being exposed. Taken advantage of! I must not let it happen.

And then, as if to confirm his greatest fears, he saw it!

Khushi momentarily looked up from her notepad to pass a coded smirk to Dhruv which he in turn, returned promptly. There was something in their eyes that made Arnav's chest pound like a jazz drum! It looked as if they were trying to remind each other of the subject they were laughing over just a while ago. Yes. She did indeed tell him. I heard her too! I was so stunned when I saw him like that!

Arnav had an iron grip on his pen as he struggled to keep in his rage. He just couldn't wait for this meeting to get over!

Note: Pretty short update for now. Going to get engaged with other stuff for a while. So might take time for the next one. But keep watching this space. I might pop in earlier ;)
