If anyone launched Deepika it was Farah Khan. She picked her for Om Shanti Om, no offence intended but SRK doesn't really seem interested in helping launch anyone. Salman also approached Deepika first.

For all Salman Khan's faults he actually seems invested in the people he launches. Yes not all have been successes, and he mainly helps star kids, but there have been some successes, mainly Katrina Kaif. Before people bite my head off, I'm not crediting him for her career, but he definitely majorly helped her, I doubt anyone cared about her after Boom. It's extremely naive to believe she would have made it after Boom if he didn't have her in his movie, and if he didn't help her with the others, Katrina even credits him for it.

You also forgot Sonakshi and there were reports he helped Aishwarya Rai get HDDCS, which majorly helped her career.

Now I'm not saying anything about Salman Khan's intention, but I can't deny he helps some people. If you see the bad in someone, you should also see the good. Just like the charity work, I don't care what the intention is, whether it's to show off, because he cares, whatever it is if you help someone in need, then it's a good thing.
