The story which started as a domestic worker's struggle continued on, to be the story of a maid's daughter who wanted to achieve big dreams.

The character of contemporary times, a young Indian girl who dreamt of having her own identity, a successful career and yet for whom her family was her world. A girl with a loving heart and sharp mind; with her eyes focused on her aim and having the zeal to fulfill all what she dreamt of: she was Kalpana Vitthal Jadhav.
Yet Kalpana could sacrifice anything for her family, her world revolved around the yearning to feel her Aai's unseen love. Whatever Kalpana did, it was in the hope to get some attention, acknowledgement or praise from her mother Kamla. Even Kalpana's own dreams shone with the light which came from her mother's eyes in the hope that one day that light will fall not just on the dreams for her future, but also to lighten up Kalpana's present.
Kamla who formerly worked as a maid in Sahil Kapoor's house had always allowed her dreams of making her daughter a successful person to block the view of her love for Kalpana. Thus, a mother's nurturing side was never visible to Kalpana.
Despite the continuous neglecting by her own mother for someone else's daughter, Kalpana never let go of hope. By achieving the dreams seen by Kamla for her, Kalpana desired to achieve her fistful of sky which was happiness of her Aai and some motherly love. Adding on to these motivations was the harassment Kalpana had faced since her childhood at the hands of Kapoors for the reason a river of economic differences flowed between them.
The bulked up annoyance against the Kapoors was a major reason that Kalpana made it her own dream to become a successful career-woman. The objective was not just to play a supporting and protecting role for her family, but also to show to the world and Kapoors specifically what Kalpana Vitthal Jadhav was capable of. Her two dreams of feeling Kamla's motherly love and to defeat Kapoors someday fuelled Kalpana's sole aim: to be called as an achiever in society thereby raising her and her family's heads proudly.

The said ambitions were clearly visible in an adult Kalpana's first scene in the show, in which she stood staring at the Kapoor mansion with the dreams of one day buying that mansion in her eyes. It was a true showcase of Kalpana Vitthal Jadhav's burning desire and determined attitude to outshine everyone in the professional sphere. It was a small window to the vastness of Kalpana's aims, and never once did Kalpana doubt the outcomes' success. What shone through her personality were sheer confidence, attitude, focus, determination and faith.
With this first scene, the adult Kalpana Vitthal Jadhav had taken giant strides in the hearts of viewers who were now themselves a part of Kalpana's journey to success. What was significant in Kalpana's character was that she used her wounds and pains as her biggest strength; her driving force in this journey. Never forgetting how her mother was forced to work as a maid, or the unprincipled behavior of some moneyed people like Sahil & Neetu Kapoor; and to prove herself as the best in front of her Aai, Kalpana was motivated to work harder.

The swimming competition between Kalpana and Pakhi was a good incident to show an unswerving Kalpana and her other character traits. Kalpana learnt swimming and competed with Pakhi, not only to get herself noticed by Kamla as she proved herself to be the best but it also exhibited one other trait of hers. It was a showcase as to how Kalpana would remove any weakness which comes in way of her path but she would succeed. Kalpana unfailingly emerged stronger than ever before with each challenge thrown her way.
Kalpana Vitthal Jadhav was a girl who could sacrifice anything for the happiness of her mother, but she would still never relinquish her rights or allow the wrong to win. She could snatch from the world what was hers and work hard to get it, be it her professional life or personal sphere.
Kalpana used to live and breathe her Aai's dreams, which were the only dreams she had learnt to see. Ignored by her mother, craving for her love was Kalpana's core trait of Kalpana's character. Her mind had never thought and her eyes never learnt that her heart could yearn for or need something else too. It never crossed Kalpana that some person other than her family could become her life.
It was on way to achieving her mother's dreams that Kalpana had met Raghav, years after their last meeting in childhood.

After she met Raghav, Kalpana found the dream of her heart, her true love and sweet prune to her hunger to feel wanted and loved. Raghav Singhania was the one who would go on to compensate for all the loneliness Kalpana had ever felt in her life besides going on to become her mentor and guide. They both were perfect for each other.

The epitome of every trait and emotion which a human being may possess. He was a man passionate to take his revenge; he was the incarnation of romance, and then he was also a person who fell to the depths of despair blinded by the love for a mother whom he'd found after long years.
Wronged in childhood, when Raghav Singhania returned as a grown-up man he was the man on a mission. Raghav wanted to avenge the injustices meted out to him not by fate, but by the greed of Sahil Kapoor & Neetu Kapoor.

The man exuded sheer power, attitude and arrogance in his first scene itself when Raghav had put down his first steps on the soil of revenge out of a helicopter. The helicopter had landed just in front of Pakhi Kapoor's birthday party venue, causing the dust to rise and disruption in Kapoors' party by the winds blown from its wings.
The scene was a clear indication of what storm the Raghav Singhania was capable of bringing in the lives of his enemies. This motive of revenge which Raghav had carefully harbored all his life turned him into a ruthless person. So much so that he was even ready to help his enemy's daughter for the purpose of achieving his objective, an indication in Raghav saving Pakhi Kapoor's life right after his return.
Raghav Singhania would use any means but leave no stone unturned to follow his revenge path. Whether it was by the way of using clever business tactics or by using Sahil Kapoor's own daughter as his shield and one of the weapons against Kapoors, Raghav Singhania could go to any extent. Kapoors had taken away everything from Raghav, including his normal childhood. Raghav Singhania had returned to reclaim all his lost smiles from Kapoors, with added interest. With only one motive of returning to India, to give peace to his late father's soul and in the process find some for himself too, Raghav Singhania was a dark cloud on the skies of Kapoors' lives.
Yet it is interesting to note that for a man with a heart of steel from outside, the hidden centre inside it was soft and mushy which did yearn for love.

With no one but his best friend Samar Raizada to call as his own, no one to call his family and no one who showered every sprinkle of love on him, Raghav Singhania was a strong but a lonely man. He yearned for someone to care for him, someone to scold him and someone to treat him as a normal human being and not just a successful businessman.
He hid his concerns for the few people he loved even from them behind the mask of arrogance, which included hiding the care he felt for his Kamla Maa and her family also. Though Raghav Singhania always did provide a strong shoulder to his Kamla Maa and her family, whenever the need be. But he never openly showed the affection in his heart to those whom he cared for.

He was to be an invisible angel, a mentor for Kalpana. On the surface Raghav may appear rude to the only girl who would ever matter to him, but he would be there to support her dreams, always. Raghav was to be Kalpana's anchor in her pains & dreams though always hidden.

But despite his unwillingness these steel walls and faade were broken upon when Kalpana Jadhav entered his life. Kalpana Jadhav was a girl who didn't treat Raghav differently from others. She respected him but she was not intimidated by him unlike others and slowly but surely Kalpana changed Raghav.
If Raghav Singhania could not deny help to those he loved, then Kalpana too was no less. She could go to any extent for the sake of those whom she cared about. A good illustration of this trait being when Kalpana had gone in search of Raghav Singhania himself in order to save their chawl, which was home to many whom she cared about. Kalpana matched Raghav in so many ways.
Attitude, never-say-die spirit, anger, passion for her aims and no place for love in her life were some of the common characteristics of Raghav and Kalpana.

Undoubtedly Raghav Singhania could not resist her charm; Kalpana Vitthal Jadhav affected him, because she was unique and special in a good way. He was confused by the unrecognizable emotions which Kalpana ignited in him and thus Raghav fought with Kalpana. He had attempted to push her further away from himself. But every fight unknowingly brought not only Raghav closer to Kalpana, but Kalpana too came closer to him.
Being a girl who stood for what was right Kalpana challenged Raghav, his ways and treated him like a normal human being, which of course made her special to him. She was Raghav's reforming force, who for once made him shun the immoralist ways of using Pakhi Kapoor for the purpose of his revenge. Raghav brought out the best in Kalpana in every possible way.

The trip to Alibaugh was one such incident where Kalpana's innocence and sensitivity was well-represented. Kalpana had requested Raghav to lend a hand to the needy couple requesting for help on highway. She was unable to speculate well that it could be a trap by robbers. Later on robbed and stranded alone on road, Raghav insulted and rebuked Kalpana and she had stood for herself. Instead of being intimidated by Raghav she chose her own path and that path too eventually led her to Raghav only.
The Alibaugh trip brought out Kalpana's buried care and concern for Raghav, alongside the realization of her feminine feelings for him as a man.
Kalpana's heart had started the process of realization that her dreams of a fistful of sky were not just about her mother's or her own professional dreams; but it was more about her yearning for love which all her life Kalpana had missed. It was about another human being completing her, someone who not only respected her dreams; but also gave unconditional love to her. Kalpana's priorities had started shifting from her mother's dreams to the dreams of her heart.

For a man who had everything but love, Kalpana completed Raghav and together they created their own Universe. He experienced the peace of heavens in Kalpana's arms, finding the smiles of contentment in her eyes. If Raghav was a man on fire on the path of his revenge, in love he was a giant waterfall of romance.
With dark longings in his eyes, naughty caresses in his smiles and feathers of magic in his touch Raghav Singhania had made not only Kalpana, but every female viewer fall in love with him. If fantasies were perfect dreams seen with open eyes, Raghav Singhania was better than the most perfect fantasy, one which every girl desired to come true.
Gradually Kalpana did realize what completes her Universe; it was Raghav who was her sky, and her happiness. With the arrival of Raghav in her life, Kalpana had started to learn to live for herself, for what she liked. He filled that vacuum in Kalpana's life which had existed since her childhood due to Kamla's ignorance towards her. She was now complete with Raghav.
