Abhishek Kapoor To Direct Shahid Kapoor For Magadheera Remake?
By BusinessofCinema News Network on August 22, 2015After Sajid Nadiadwala got the rights for the remake of the Telugu super hit film, Magadheera,now the news is that the film will be directed by Abhishek Kapoor staring Shahid Kapoor in the lead roles.
According to the reports, Abhishek Kapoor who is busy with his upcoming project Fitoor, will be helming the Hindi remake of 2009 Telugu film Magadheera with Shahid Kapoor in the lead role.
Sajid Nadiadwala was facing problem to find the right director for the Hindi remake of South film when Baahubali director S S Rajamouli rejected his approach. Now it seems, Sajid has found the right person with Abhishek Kapoor as director while Shahid Kapoor was already on the boards for the male lead role. Shahid will be playing the lead role essayed by Telugu star Ram Charan Teja in the original film.
The original plot of Magadheera revolves around four people: a valiant warrior in charge of the princess' safety; the princess who loves him; her cousin who lusts after her; and an emperor who wants to conquer their kingdom. They all die before their wishes are fulfilled and are reborn after 400 years, at which point the warrior kills the scheming cousin with the support of the emperor and wins over the princess.
Reportedly, the shooting of the film will go on floors next year in 2016. No confirmation on the same has been done from the makers of the film but it is said that the deal will be signed only on the success factor of Abhishek's other film Fitoor' starring Katrina Kaif and Aditya Roy Kapur in the lead roles.
Meanwhile, even Shahid Kapoor is busy with his upcoming films Udta Punjab and Shaandaar.Soon after the promotions of Shaandaar starring Alia Bhatt, Shahid Kapoor will start with the shooting for Rangoon and Vikramaditya Motwane's next which is yet untitled.
