IKRS ~ 19th August, 9th episode My Take
One thing is clear now, that Dashrant is robbed of his former smug complacency. This time the thieves is not outsiders.. those are well under his feet. This time the foes are an insiders.. One is in whom Tripathi had pitched great hopes upon. Viplav babba is more dangerous then foes outside the house. His thoughts are contrary to Dashrant's .. plus the rate at which the Viplav strikes is becoming fast paced by the minute. He certainly is keeping the potent householders that hold the power, on their toes. Distastefully both Viplav's grandad and mum are on tether hooks! with regards to his whereabouts , when the man is out of the house. Dashrant is plagued by fear of Viplav's leaning towards the widows one in particular. It seems to him, this low life widow has created a division between his star grandson Viplav and him.. Dhani is the butt of his vengeance thus! Actually Dashrant is now beginning to see both Dhani and Viplav as threats to his power! his word! as such he needs a practical watch dog ,who better than Tripurari.. Dashrant is shrewd enough to gather, that this wretch needs his favour and will collude to gain Dashrant's favourable eye.. however little does he know that Tripurari too is snake in the grass.. Viplav is obvious.. whilst Tripurari sly and foxy..
It is interesting to note that so drunk are the mighty of their might that they fail to comprehend what is going on under their nose.. the saying that one suspects not their own family of treason and the threat of being overthrown.. such is Dashrant demeanour!
The episode has some thought provoking scenes..
Some objects are used, to play and excite the imagination of us viewers . making us wish for what we desire to see.. The flying of the yellow garment stitched for a deity .. land's on the ground and we wish Viplav would spot it and it becomes a reason for them to meet.. of course we find out the true significance of the yellow garment at the puja ceremony where the pandit refuses to accept the garlands and the garments prepared by the hands of inauspicious widows!
Labour carried out with commitment, responsibility and devotion is received with gratitude .. so proves vidhi ji to both Dhani, Sushma and the pandit! .. Dhani accepts praise not just for herself but reiterates the shared effort of all the widows of the ashram.
Alongside the message that blessings given from the heart is what matters and not by the given or defined prominence , repute or category of a person..
The episode also touched on two types of human desires.. and indulgences. While one type is harmless, and often gives joy not to one person, but all! .. is shown in Sushma's joy in accepting the bag of tasty goodwill food! The other type of desire is what Rajlakshmi has.. desire , that makes you covet! steal another's property, by dishonest means to fulfil one's greed! .. this type of desire makes one lie to cover one's tracks..
Another interesting element in todays's episode is the influence of peers and friends in one's life. The peers who mean well are the ones who give a detached opinion of where one errors.. and aim to correct.. show one those elements of one's action to which one may be oblivious to..Viplav's friends thrash out his actions with the widow whom they reckon, their friend is preoccupied with.. Viplav too is able to talk freely with his peers, as he accepts them as being close to him.. He trusts them. Patiently and systematically his friends recap his actions.. and gradually Viplav realizes..what his actions may be seen to mean??
On the other hand we see Rajlaxmi, Dhani's peer from the ashram.. she only maligns and forcefully bad mouths Dhani and her actions to tarnish her image.. here we see jealousy in a peer towards her popular counterpart.. a fellow widow!
Liked the underlying moralistic elements of the episode.. Hamlet53~ 20.8.15
