Looks like Amaya hasn't lost all her brains. Or maybe the absence of Uma's ultra high frequency shrieks since the past few days (I cannot thank the CVs enough for sparing Amaya and us the torture!) is causing her dead brain cells to regenerate. Her first instinct as she sees the pics is to hide them. It would've been a smart move if there wasn't the threat of having those pics displayed all over Banaras by morning. What was she planning to do then? But Rudra swoops into action before Amaya can even think about what to do. Of course Rudra had to be the only one to notice Amaya missing from the gathering and find her at the doorstep and see the envelope in her hand and do nautanki about it. Because he and Dev are behind this whole land as we know from the spoilers. They've played such a superb stroke to humiliate and insult the Chaubey-Mathur clan and the timing too is so perfect, that they won't appear first on the list of suspects. Rama's mom's claims of proving Rachu to be characterless and Rama's own declaration that he will get Rachita, somehow, anyhow have been timed perfectly for the plan so that the needle of suspicion turns towards them first. Bravo!!
The whole house stands shocked at seeing the pics, Rudra's mother does some major drama and in walks a dazed Rachita. I admit, I honestly felt scared for her as she walked into the dead silent stares of the family. I must give it to the writers for keeping Sneha's character so real. She slaps Rachita, yells at her as her first reaction, the way any mother would if her daughter were out all night and pictures of her with a guy turned up at the house along with that kind of a letter. She even tries to throw Rachita out of the house in her blind fury.
Poor Rachita has no idea whatsoever is going on. Rudra's mom, at her nautanki best, thrusts the pics under Rachi's nose and the poor girl is devastated! She begs and pleads with everyone to trust her, that she had only gone for a walk outside and woke up at a hospital somewhere. GC with his usual high handed ness refuses to believe her, even throws in a bait to get her to fess up that she did go to meet Rama by saying they were all with her but Rachu kept saying the truth and GC refused to buy it.
I love how fiery and spirited Rachita is despite everything that is going wrong in her life. She approaches her mom next and tried to convince her of the truth. And I absolutely love Sneha's character for showing faith in her daughter in this moment of crisis. We've all questioned Sneha's strength of character at some point or the other but she has shown us that time and again, when the need arises, she will stand up for her daughters, no matter what. From one mother to another, hats off Sneha Mathur! Unlike her father, Sneha seems to have learned from his mistakes and I am so glad she isn't making the same mistakes with her daughters that her father made with her. Her trust in her daughters and love for them trumped any ridiculous notions of honor that her father might've tried to drill into her.
This also happens in the face of increasing evidence that could be construed as against Rachita. Amaya tries to charge Rachita's phone to see if they could get any info from there but at the end moment, Rudra snatches the phone from her and announces to everyone that the last person Rachu spoke to was Rama and they talked for long. How was Rudra so sure that it would be Rama's number? Had he spied on their conversation as well? Rudra ke aankh aur kaan bade tezz hain by God! Amaya stands up for Rachu and tells everyone she'd heard Rachu's convo with Rama and how she's been mad at him and there wasn't a chance she could've gone to meet him after that. But GC buys none of it and accuses Amaya of being an accomplice to Rachita's escapade.
Khair, Sneha goes on to fight with GC for the sake of her daughter and raises a very valid point - that it wasn't important to find fault with Rachita right now but realize that someone was out to align their reputation and destroy them. Very very very valid point Sneha! But before people could start thinking about it, Rachita announces she does not give two hoots about what anyone else thinks as long as her mother trusts her and walks away.
GC is quick to take offense and throw a fit but Sneha does not back down. Even when he says, "I only want what's good for them," she tells him something along the lines of, how can you decide what's good for them when you don't take the time or effort to understand them? Kudos to the creatives and writers for such amazing dialogues and scenes. Everything is relative in this world. What is good or bad, right or wrong, for the most part varies from case to case. You can't try to plug square pegs into round holes and then yell at the square pegs are wrong because they won't fit into a round hole!
GC reminds her that they don't have time for this discussion because come morning, his honor would become a laughing stock in Benaras of the threat in the letter was carried out.
Amu is trying to console Rachu and also find out who was behind all this and what happened. Rachita, who has lost her trust in Rama big time, immediately holds him responsible. Amaya, on the other hand, has so much trust in Mantu's trust on Rama that she tries to convince Rachi otherwise. Rachita is no mood to listen to any of it and asks Amaya why she is so fixated on what Mantu says, even he created a scene the day before by beating up Rudra. Amaya still tries to convince Rachu and says she will call Rama and talk to him. But Rachu is in no mood to relent. She is so devastated, and rightfully so, about her kidnapping and instead of getting any solace and comfort when she got home, she had to face all this. I am glad Amaya decided to shut up and give her a hug instead at that point. I wish you'd been so practical, level headed when it came to your relationship with Mantu, Amaya!
Pushpa drags GC to Sneha's room and beseeches to him, as a mother, to understand the situation Sneha is in as a mother and sort their issues then and there. I am guessing Pushpa is learning from Sneha how to speak up for her daughter.
But of course, it isn't about love or trust for GC, it is all about honor for him as we see in the precap. Though GC says it's also for Rachu's future, the major reason undoubtedly is HC's need to protect his image as an honorable man, that he is going to suggest that Rachita get married to Rama.
I know this was what was going to happen and I love Rama's and Rachita's Jodi. I'm also excited about the upcoming wedding track and post-wedding story line (though I suspect it's going to take a typical saas-bahu angle, especially with the introduction of the new characters) but I have to say I am disappointed that this is the way it's coming to be. What if Rachita's pics had turned up with a random loafer on the street? Would they have gotten her married to him to save her and the family's honor? I know Rama is a decent guy and he isn't behind any of this, but the line of thinking just angers me. Is that the only way a family's honor can be salvaged? By marrying the girl off to whoever she was with? And how does that salvage the honor? I don't get it!
Hasi ki dukaan of the day - me. CVs ko shath shath pranam for keeping Uma away from us for a good whole week! But I hear she is making a reappearance soon. Not looking forward to that!
Character of the day - Sneha! For being a mother to her daughters when they needed her love and trust the most!
Scene of the day - Sneha hugging Rachi to tell her she has full faith in her. I was on tenterhooks till then because I didn't know what to expect.. But that scene was such a relief!
Dialogue of the day - Sneha telling GC that he cannot decide what's good for the girls if he does lot take the time and effort to know them.
Nautanki of the day - Rudra and his mom. They should totally start a nautanki troupe of their own. They'd do great!
