Chapter 3
Hello Diary,
Had a long and tiring day today. I had to take extra classes to complete the syllabus.
I met Mr. Jerk again in the book store. Sometimes, I wonder if he is following me. And again he started his irritating stupid dialogues. "Chane bech raha hoon. Khaani hai?" God! How does he come up with these dialogues! Moreover, he thinks they are funny. Annoying Stupid Raizada!
But then I was surprised when he apologised for his behaviour and even asked me out for coffee. I don't understand why likes teasing me. Anyway, I agree that we have to meet in occasionally since, unfortunately, we are related but I cannot forgive him easily.
Was I very rude? I saw his face fall when I refused joining him for coffee. I think I saw genuine regret in his eyes. Whatever. I am NOT going to forgive him soon.
P.S. Err.. In blue shirt and beige chinos, he was...ermmm... distracting. I SHOULD stop noticing his clothes.

Arnav Singh Raizada had not been so anxious even for his Harvard's acceptance letter as he was then, waiting for Khushi's reply. And then she had replied with a not so polite tone that she would not be able join him for coffee as she had some other work. He had silently watched her retreating figure. Well, he knew the exact reason. She had not forgiven him for all his teasings.
But Raizadas do not accept defeat easily. So Arnav had figured out that he had to work harder to earn Khushi's apology and trust. Khushi Gupta was an enigma for him and he wanted to explore the mystery that she was.
Arnav was in London, working as an intern in a business organization. It was his father's policy that his sons gain knowledge about the business world before joining the family business. Arnav was already aware about Akash and Payal's relationship. So when he had come to know that their marriage date had been fixed, he decided to congratulate Payal directly. He had overheard a honey-like sweet voice talking excitedly about her beloved Jiji's marriage while talking to Payal over phone. It did not take much time for Arnav to deduce that the voice belonged to Payal's sister. He had imagined a sweet young lady with an ever-smiling face as the owner of the voice. Owing to Akash's constant praises about his would-be sister-in-law (after he had finished his quota of praising his would-be wife for the day), he had grown a special interest in his brother's would-be sister-in-law.
He had expected to meet her when he had gone to the Gupta Villa with the shagun. But alas! He wasn't fortunate enough. She had not returned from college. His mind had boggled when he had come to know that the lady with a honey-like voice, and with an even sweeter name Khushi, was a Professor of Mathematics. He had wondered how lucky her students had been, getting to hear the melodious voice teaching one of the most difficult subjects.
However, Arnav's beautiful notion about Khushi had shattered into pieces on the day of his brother's engagement. All his theories had been proven wrong. Instead of a sweet young lady with an ever-smiling face with a honey-like voice', he had met an an angry young lady with mostly-frowning face with a stern voice'.
Gradually he had realised that beyond her strict persona, she had a care-free self which she showed only to her closed ones. He had seen her grow friendly with his sister Anjali and his grandmother during the wedding. He had seen her fight with Saket over trivial matters. He had seen her teasing Payal and Akash and silently wiping her tears during Payal's bidaai. He had also seen her asking her father to rest and comforting her mother that everything would go well. He had seen her laugh at Saket's antics. Ah! Her laugh! The rarest yet the most beautiful sight ever.
The more he had observed her, the more his respect had grown for her. One day he would definitely be able to bring that rarest sight' on her face. With that resolve in his mind, Arnav Singh Raizada closed his eyes and welcomed his peaceful sleep.

"Khu baby, wake up."
Khushi was greeted with Saket's voice. She slowly opened her eyes and then sat up. Her eyes rounded in shock at the sight in front of her. Saket was all ready to go out for the regular morning jog. She rubbed her eyes and checked the time.
5:50 A.M.
She rubbed her eyes and checked the clock again. She then looked at Saket raising an eyebrow.
"Saket, are you fine? You don't have fever, right?" She finally asked him.
"Of course I am fine. What will happen to me? Get ready quickly." Saket said and walked out of the room.
Khushi was still in shock. Saket woke up earlier than her! Strange! And he was excited for the jog. Usually Khushi had to drag him out of the bed in the morning. Something is definitely amiss. Khushi thought.
In exactly ten minutes, she was ready and both of them reached the park near their house, their usual jogging spot. Khushi was observing Saket since the time he had woken her up. She saw him checking his phone more frequently than usual. He was even looking towards the entrance of the park from time to time.
"Are you waiting for someone?" She asked.
"No. I am not waiting for anyone. Khu baby, you are really slow. Run faster baby." He replied and ran past her.
Khushi was not convinced though. It was only after third round of her run that she realised Saket wasn't anywhere near her. They usually ran together. In fact they even raced sometimes. Her doubts increased. She looked around, trying to find him. She dialled his number but he did not pick it up. Suddenly he spotted him behind a tree. He was talking to someone. She could not see the person.
She went towards them and hid behind a bush near them. A man was talking to him. He handed him a packet. Who was he? What was in the packet? Concern about her brother's safety took over her. Saket was not with any wrong company, right? She decided to approach them. She was about to call out Saket's name but stopped on her tracks when she heard the man speak.
"Khushi should not come to know about this."
The husky voice belonged to none other than Arnav Singh Raizada.
She was furious again.
"And what should I not know?" She asked angrily gritting her teeth.
Arnav and Saket turned towards her. Saket gulped seeing her sister standing with hands on her hips, with a raised eye-brow and lips forming a thin line.
"Uh. Hi, Khushi. Good morning", said Arnav with a smile.
