Come Out: Secret admirers of your favorite star's rival

Fans are very loyal to their favorite stars. Have you been in a situation where you secretly admired their closest rival's work but were afraid to admit to yourself or your friends?

I have been in the situation many times.

For instance...

While growing up, I was a HUGE Sri fan (still am 😳). In the early Nineties, when Sri vs Mad rivalry was at peak, I used to constantly monitor Mad's work and compare it with Sri's. In the year '94, when Anjaam and Laadla released close to each other, Laadla did well for Sri and overall was superior to the former. I felt on top of the world.

Later that year, HAHK happened out of the blue. Madhuri was the toast of the town. I saw the movie and just couldn't help myself being drawn into her charm. The performance didn't call for histrionics but she did her role well, regardless and looked her best. The movie put everything behind and Madhuri was suddenly miles ahead with that ATBB. I had a hard time dealing with the reality but was so enamored by Madz... that I watched the movie like 3 times in theatre..😆 I still continued to be in Sri's party but over the years loved Mad's work (mainly in Mrityudand, Lajja, Devdas)

It was a very difficult year to be a Sri fan emotionally. 😛 I'll stop here with this example.

You are wise then. Over the years, thankfully things changed. I never loved anyone so much as Sri. After she left in 1997, my favorites changed over the years.

I realized if I had the ability to fall in love with such a supreme talent in Sri, I obviously had the ability to recognize similar brilliance in different human beings.

Today, Movie above everything else. But a soft spot for those actors, who constantly push their limits 😳 One such actor is the young lady in my DP.

Sanjay Dutt: Really liked him in Munnabhai. Other than that he can pretty much go and kiss donkey ass

Salman Khan: Liked him in Wanted. One of the most entertaining movie for me. He was good in that. In BB he wasn't anything special. Anyone could have done that role.

Aamir: Don't like any of his performance. Though couple of his movies are very much in my favs TZP and 3 Idiots. TZP was all about the kid. 3 idiots was all about Boman and Chatur. They were highly underrated.

Then Comes SrK with his baazigar. When I first saw the title song of the baazigar in a trailer , I felt kajol and SRK below average looking ...especially kajol didn't even look like heroine material to me, never thought SRK can be competition to SK. However the song was very beautiful. When I saw the movie I was drawn by SRK acting even though some negative shades, then comes other movies like Darr, anjaam...started liking SRK more after his pairing with Madhuri. There was this conflict running inside me where SRK was overpowering my mind and heart. I became so restless those days ...such a fan girl 😳. But Salman was still reigning as no 1.

When DDLJ released I refused to go to that movie As I was annoyed that it broke Maduri and Salman records.My friends thought I am crazy Maduri and Salman fan...they Went ahead to watch the movie without me. Then in few days I realised that I already turned in to SRK fan and couldn't accept kajol in the movie. I wanted to see Madhuri and SRK and that's the most obvious reason for not going to DDLJ.

I think that is the time I realised I was very jealous of kajols success .its clear I am fan of SRK😃. Pushed myself to watch song " hogaya hi tujhko tho pyaar sajana, Laakh Karle tu inkaar sajna" on TV...SRK made No 1 position permanently in my mind and heart after that. No turn back. I watched DDLJ on TV after one year of its release that's too on TV just becos Madhuri is not in that movie. 😭Its hard during that phase of my life to accept that SRK and Kajol has better chemistry😳. Thank god I passed that phase now😊.

I still used to like Salman khan but after his hosting in Bigboss I learnt what a bully he is and his manipulative nature to support the star kids and his favourites. I have mixed feelings for Salman...I think it's on and off.😊

Coming to good movies and good acting , it has nothing to do with my favouritism. I enjoy watching movies if they are good i give credit to the actor who did fair bit of acting. I can't just sit and watch SRK movies only...he acts terribly too in some movies.
