I'm a senior in High School.........and I have never learned about Ramayan or Mahabharat........and I'm done with History.........I had Ashoka and Gandhi in World History.........but I never actually learned about Ramayan or Mahabharat in school....I dunno if ur school's different....
Actually I live in the U.S. too....and when I was in high school, we hardly learned about Indian history or any oriental history....I took lots of history courses and in them out of a whole text book there was about one paragraph on Indian history...and even that info. was biased and wrong...school was no place to learn about indian history...you either learn the real stuff from your parents or from reading books from india and internet research...and even in my IB History or the 20th century class we didnt learn about Gandhi or India at all and that was an international course....and I only learned about Ramayan and Mahabharat from watching the epics on TV...
