There's no proof that they're not telling the truth. There's no proof that Aamir is really the messiah that he portrays himself as.

Maybe Aamir is just greedy and stingy who goes around making fake promises to poor people which he never intends to keep so that he can again portray himself as India's Messiah in front of millions of Indians who will take his word at face value and not have the time or inclination to dig deeper. And make crores while making another episode of Jhootmeva Jayate.
