Uma madam plays her cards and sets the wheels in motion to stop Amaya from reaching for the puja. She asks someone to stop Amaya somehow, anyhow and also changes the venue of the puja. On the other hand, an innocent remark from Neeti, that the next time there is a pooja in the house, she'd like to invite all her friends, boys included, leads to GC placing another barrier for the desperate lovers. GC rules that to protect the honor of the family, no outsider who is a guy will be allowed to step inside the house. I was raving mad at the announcement but when Rachita spoke up against GC, it made me feel so much better. I was so disappointed in Rachita's silence towards GC's announcement regarding the girls not being allowed to work anymore. Rachita spoke up and said they'd grown up in a different environment and they aren't used to such restrictions. But they still do understand their limits and that's the reason why restrictions were never imposed on them. Amaya chipped in too and spoke her stand. Surprisingly, even Kaushalya spoke up for the girls. Sneha was irritatingly subservient to her dad at first but then even she said, I've given my daughters the same values you've given me dad so you don't have to worry about them. But of course, GC gives it right back to her and reminds her of what she did in the past. GC realizes that he isn't going to enjoy his autonomy/dictatorship anymore what with the girls questioning his every move. So he takes the emotional route and tells Sneha that history has a tendency to repeat itself and that he is way too old to handle any more blows to over-inflated ego.
As GC was mouthing his dialogues on parampara, prathishta and anushasan, no prizes for guessing which character he reminded me of - the character of Amitabh Bachchan from Mohabbatein. And that brought the realization of the stark similarities between the two characters too. Even after he sacrificed his only daughter at the altar of his morals and principles, AB's character still holds onto his morals and principles above love. GC went through the same experience of losing his daughter and yet he still hasn't had a realization that if only he'd accept that love is not bound by any societal norms, does not cater to moralistic attitudes and is the only way to get off the high horse of your ego, only then, would he get the peaceful and happy family that he hopes and prays for.
Now, if we ever needed any more signals about how the future of this story would be, GC have us one with today's dialogue that history has a tendency to repeat itself. The question is whether it'll repeat with Rachita or Amaya or both the girls? Or maybe Neeti?
Rudra Bhaiyya realizes that his master stroke would come from nowhere else but to get the Mathurs and Chaubeys fighting amongst themselves. Which is why I think he ends up beating Rama black and blue. There are two possible outcomes to his actions: 1) the family gets to know; GC taunts and imposes even more restrictions on the Mathur girls. The girls will not like it and they'll want to rebel. There'll be increasing conflicts, unrest and confrontations in the family till the recently reunited family disintegrated again, leaving the Mathur family vulnerable and prone. 2) Seeing Rama's state, Rachita's heart will melt for him. She'll fall in love with him and then, in the face of increasing oppression from GC, the two could elope and get married. That would again mean the end of the Mathur-Choubey reunion. Whatever the outcome of Rudra's actions, I am looking forward to the Mathur girls standing up to GC. I'd hate it if they backed down and decided to be subservient instead. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for respecting elders and traditions and customs but I am not a fan of autonomy/dictatorship. Like Rachita says, it's the 21st century. Not the 15th. And she goes on to not just say the words but stand by her words by letting Amaya sneak out to Mantu's pooja. Good going Rachita! Thank God you haven't lost your spirit.
Before I forget, speaking of hints for future tracks, GC mentions he will not be able to survive another blow to his honor. Is that a hint too for the future? 😲
Mantu has eyes, ears and his attention only fixated for a glance of Amaya. And yet, Uma being the thick-headed b***h that she is, is gushing over the fact that random people say Mantu and she are like Shivji and Parvati and that next time they'd like an invite to Uma and Mantu's wedding. Okay people! If you think Uma is anything like Parvati, you don't know Uma. She is selfish, self-centered and venomous. She cannot and will not come anywhere near the absolute selfless devotion with which Parvati waited and did penance for Shivji. That comparison just irked me to no end.
Oh the absolute desperation with which Mantu was waiting for Amaya was so so heart breaking! For the sake of my poor heart that has lost it's ability to take too much drama, I really really hope Amaya makes it to the pooja. But like I mentioned last week, I don't think we'll get to see that happenings or not happening till the later part of this week. Because Amaya falls right into Uma's trap and ends up taking a ride with the office peon who is Uma's man who takes her through a longer route and then gets into an accident too!
From the precap it seems the pooja is over but Mantu is lingering around to see if Amaya would make it because he can't accept that she did not. And Amaya is dealing with the police and the other party involved in the silly accident. Will she make it? Will she make it? Thank you CVs for tormenting my poor heart with this drama! I am almost tempted to not watch the show till someone tells me Amaya made it to the pooja.
The only thing I have to say about Mantu's pooja scene was that it majorly pissed me off that Uma and Mantu were doing to the pooja together. Why couldn't Chiklu have done the pooja with Mantu? Or I wish the Panditji had asked who is this to Mantu and he had said, she's like my sister. Wouldn't that have been spectacular?! I'm just going to pretend that's what happened to make this torture named Uma bearable! The other thing that made it bearable was Mantu's look. He looked super handsome. If Amaya, in her gorgeous white salwar suit with those big, beautiful earrings and the tiny bindi makes it to the pooja, I'm sure all those uncles and aunties who were commenting on the naagin Uma looking pretty like a bride and Uma-Mantu Jodi, will change sides and agree that Amaya and Mantu look so made for each other, especially that crackling chemistry of theirs whenever they look at each other.. Like they are straight out of the cover of a desi Mills and Boons story of a tall, dark handsome Prince Charming and his delicate, gorgeous Princess in white!
Character of the day - Rachita, for standing up to and giving it back to GC.
Scene of the day - Rachita and Jazz helping Amaya go for Mantu's pooja
Dialogue of the day - "Jaise ki 21st century nahi, yeh koi 15th century hai" Way to go Rachu dear! Hold this same conviction when you have to fight for your love, Rama too!
Nautanki of the day - Uma for her fake concern for Mantu's happiness and all her desperate attempts to keep him from getting in touch with Amaya and GC for all his archaic, moralistic, chauvanistic bhashans.
Hasi ki dukaan - Rachu's sly smile as she tells Amaya that GC does not have to know that she left.
Can Amaya please reach the pooja in time tomorrow? Is that really too much to ask for CVs? Itna tho reham kar do!
