The other change is footfalls from the website earlier. The footfalls really interest the film going public as the maximum emails we have got over the last year have been about footfall numbers.

These were hardly published as there were issues with the calculations as the program on the website to calculate was picking up nett collections in some circuits and gross figures for others which meant incorrect values. The program works now and footfalls are different from earlier but its pretty much the same order as changes are across the board for every film. These will now be updated more regularly with not only lifetime footfalls but opening day, weekend and others.

There may be some erros on the website as the data entry is done by a third party, most major films have been checked but with so many numbers there may be some errors which can be brought to our attention at admin@boxofficeindia.com. Please state clearly the error or omission with the link.

They've addressed the issue and claim that there was some errors with data calculations which has been fixed now. Not everyone has to take their word for it, I do!

Another interesting thing to note is that all the big differences are from films by independent production companies like Rakesh Roshan, Red Chillies, YRF, Nadiadwala, Dharma, Arbaaz. The only exception is Fox Star Studios 'Bang Bang' which is super weird but their CEO has since been fired and maybe he was already on the hot seat so fudging makes sense. Ofcourse Papa Roshan is just on a whole different planet with his 'fudging'. There's no films by UTV or Eros or other corporate accounts until PK(UTV) & Ram Leela(EROS), but both are negligeble with just 3 Cr difference.

Exactly...and i personally have no problems with people believing in BOI...considering that there is hardly any source which can be called authentic...we all can follow whatever we think is OK...I follow Taran because I have no other CHOICE to follow the one that I think is the lesser of all evils...I follow it for everyone even if it means that K3 broke CE's record in just a month...

My problem is with calling people fudgers based on BOI which has proved to be a big fudger itself...What is the guarantee that they will not come up with another apology letter tomm...I mean if BOI is the benchmark...don't you think they should be transparent atleast?? Who are these people?? Does anyone have the slightest idea...or we have to just take what ever they pull out from their behinds as the gospel truth...Why should I believe that their calculator is fixed now??

And those calling Papa Roshan a fudger...well according to ur logic every single one is a fudger then...koi bada chor toh koi chota chor...How do u define fudging?? Where do u draw the line...How do u decide where to draw the line?? Is the difference of 10 cr acceptable but 15 cr or 20 cr is not? How do you come up with these defining numbers?? These are not opinions...these are numbers...If they are correct they should not change without a very valid reason...If they are changing at the drop of a hat...then obviously they are doing something wrong?? Mistakes cannot occur everytime they update??

Which independent auditing agency does their audit?? Are the audit reports made public...or w have to believe BOI when they say they fixed their mistakes??

and we are still supposed to accuse others based on BOI...when BOI itself is not sure of its shit??

True, I completely agree with you

BOi is not something like mojo as some fans of BOI trust it like anything.

BOI is like other trade websites but the difference here is the no of sources BOI has the most no of them say like 300-400. A smaller website may have 40-50 thats the only diff betweeen them n BOI

The estimates which are put up everyday by BOI are based on Gurgaon, Kanpur, CI, Rajasthan Nos. No one gets all the data at 9 am or even by noon.
