Ya Sam..agree with you too..👍🏼slapping for once doesn't means he will stop loving her..and may be the scenario will be like that that slap become necessary..when she's given liberty than her father also expect something from her to..and who knows this will lead to another twist in tale..any parent can do this in anger and may be afterwords he'll regret and it'll strong their bond more not lessen it,so as of now ,its neither butchering not disappointing acc.to me.. rest we can say only after watching.

I think Gayu already has much freedom than any other girl from that Era reading, driving, etc ... .so drinking could be the last thing for her family ...I know its not her fault but still girls responsible for everything even today our parents will behave same thing I came home in drunk state ...

But the show ,as in set in 1940s era... Drinking would be a big deal for any family other then may be the royalties!

Even now in India, girl's drinking is not taken or accepted as a good character!

So any father would be disappointed that their daughter drinks... N here Gayatri's situation is already complicated for being unmarried...

I would say let the story unfold !!
