The tale of Pratap's elephant Ramprasad....

AL-BADAYUNI writes in one of his book...i read on internet

Pratap had an elephant named ramprasad.The elephant was so intelligent,mighty and battle-worthy that he alone had slained 13 elephants of akbar's army in battle of haldighati.Akbar after listening this got awestruck. He finally made a strategy to slain this elephant by formation of CHAKRAVYUH. Chakravyuh composed of 7 mightiest elephants of Akbars Army. These elephants had 14 MAHAVATS CONTROLLING 7 ELEPHANTS. Then only it became possible to cath this mighty elephant RAMPRASAD.

AL-BADAYUNI writes further in description of how indian animals were trained,so attached with their MASTERS and animals loyalty to its master. This elephant now was captured and was later confronted with AKBAR. AkBAR immediately changed his name from RAMPRASAD TO PIRPRASAD.


BY order of AKBAR the mughals gave him special juicy SUGARCANES and water as its appetite.
The elephant did not eat till 18 days and kept his hunger. Later it succumbed to death.

Hearing this AKBAR SAID" the one's whose elephant does not bow down in front of me,how would I be able to slain Maharana Pratap." ...

An awesome post on Maharana's elephant. Just loved it. What a loyal elephant, it didn't change masters when given special privileges. Akbar's words on Maharana and the elephant so true.
