Manik & Nandini - Stars & Fireflies 57
It was late in the night but Nandini could not sleep.. Manik occupied all her thoughts... Every time she tried to sleep the events from the morning kept interrupting her peace... She was thrown in dilemma as to what Abhi had said ab he just out Manik.. "Is he really in so much of darkness that he just can't keep anything beautiful near him...Or is Abhi defending his brother.." She thought... Whatever she thought she could not never run away or deny was the fact that she loved Manik and she could not stop worrying about him and Nandini also could not deny the jealousy Manik had experienced when he saw her with Abhi... Nandini could not help but smile when she remembered Manik's expressions when Abhi hugged her..
A smiling Nandini came to her balcony to see the stars and was shocked to see Manik sleeping in his car.. "Manik.." She thought "What's he doing here wasn't he supposed to go to a party?" She then realized that Manik was feeling a little chill as he kept on adjusting himself.. Nandini curled her lips and went in "What is her doing here now?? Let him do whatever I don't care.." She pulled up her blanket and slept... She got and sat down within 10 secs saying "Uff this boy.." She took a spare blaket and few cushions with her and went down...
It was around 3 am when Manik woke up and found himself wrapped up cozily in a blanket and his head and back supported by cushions.. "Nandini.." Manik smiled as he knew it could only be her... He knew that she would cry blood but can never harm anyone.. Manik looked up to her room and thought she must be sleeping now and he drove off...
It was 7 am in the morning when the at Malhotra Mansion rang.. It was Nandini and a servant opened the door.. Nandini was walking straight to kitchen when Abhi's voice stopped her "Wow you were missing Manik so much ki subh subh aa gayi?" and he started laughing.. "Abhi I am DJ's assistant.." Nandini replied him.. "And Manik's manager too.." DJ replied "Good morning DJ.." Abhi and Nandini replied.. "Wow you and Manik's manager.. Manik toh gaya.." Abhi sat on the couch laughing and DJ joined him.. "God help junior Malhotra.." Abhi just couldn't stop his laugh.. "Guys please.." Nandini said while walking into kitchen.. "Oh miss manager is so worried.." Abhi said and laughing again..
Nandini came out and served tea to DJ and Abhi and walked up to Manik's room.. Abhi looked at her and said "All the best.." Nandini smiled and walked in.. "Good morning Mr Malhotra..Time to wake up.." She said to a sleeping Manik.. "Hmmm same to you.." Manik said and slept.. "Mr Malhotra please get up its 7.30 am.." Nandini said again.. "Go away..Don't disturb.." Manik threw a cushion at her.. Nandini caught the cushion and realized its hers.. She frantically searched for the rest of the cushions and blanket and they were all over and under him.. Manik was sleeping covered in her blanket and clutching her cushions...
"Damn Nandini.." She cursed herself for last night's generosity... She again tried to wake up Manik but it went in vain.. Finally fed up with his tantrums Nandini said to him "Sorry Manik but you are forcing me to do this.." She smirked and pulled his blanket and poured water on his face... As soon as cold water hit a sleeping Manik's face he woke up all baffled.. It took him couple of minutes to grasp what's happening around him.. He looked at Nandini with his eyes opened wide.. "Nandini..Tum yahan.." Manik started to smile thinking she's his imagination..
Nandini had enough of this she took some more water and poured on him... "What the hell.." now Manik was completely awake.. "Are you nuts.. How dare you pour water on me.." He was about to shout more when Nandini extended his green tea mug and said "as your manager its my responsibility to wake you up so here I am waking you up.." Nandini said.. "Like this..Like really.." Manik just couldn't believe what has just happened.. "No one has ever behaved like this with me .. I am Manik Malhotra.." "Well Mr Malhotra.." Nandini was about to say something when Manik cut her "What's this Mr Malhotra? Don't you know my name ?" Nandini smiled and said "Mr Malhotra as your manager this is how I want to address you and coming to your point unexpected things always happen for the first time so get used to it.."
"What?" Manik was trying to make sense of what she has just said.. "Nothing..Please go and get freshen up I will be waiting for a breakfast table.." Nandini ordered.. "No one orders me." Manik said.. "From now on I will.." Nandini.. Manik was irritated and walked into his gym saying "I need to workout.." Nandini's eyes swelled with tears "When will you get it Manik?" she slowly took her blanket and cushions and kept them in her bag...
