'I first said no for hosting NB3' - Tina

Last year's Nach Baliye champs Tina and Hussain will be hosting Nach Baliye 3. Tina speaks to us about hosting the show and why she agreed to host the show this year.

"Hussain called me up and told me last August I gave you huge tension and that tension was that we were going to participate in Nach Baliye. Now this year as well I am going to give you same tension, though this is the next year. We have received the offer of hosting Nach Baliye. And I immediately said no and told him that we had done one Nach Baliye and it was more than enough," says Tina. However more time she was convinced and now the popular TV couple is back on the show.

Hussain and Tina have always been complimented for the chemistry that the two share. And probably that is one of the reasons that they were invited to host the show. "Of course. For any couple it is important to have good chemistry. Actually Hussain is a very nice guy and he shares a good rapport with all his co-stars whether it is Juhi or Mini or anyone. Both of us have that friendly nature. My temper is not too bad."

However, Tina says that she does have some qualms about hosting the show. "We have genuine good chemistry which people have liked. But I am not sure about my hosting skills. I am working hard on it and I am going to give it my best. Hussain is a good host and has done many shows. In fact it would be wrong to compare myself with him as he has huge energy and experience. On the other hand I am new to hosting," she says honestly.

So were you as nervous as the jodis on the first day of shoot?

I am still tensed…not just the first episode. I will be tensed till the competition ends. I do not feel tension hosting with Hussain as after all he is my husband. I always feel proud when people praise him and he supports me a lot. He always says that every person should learn things on their own. He tells me that you take feedback from others about your performance and if they will tell you that it was not good then you have to improve it. If he feels that anything is wrong then he too immediately mentions it to me. It is difficult to reach up to his level. But my team is very supportive.

Did you feel nostalgic when you entered on the sets?

I felt nostalgic… no doubt about it. In fact when we were shooting for the first episode and participants were performing on the stage I felt that why can't I go on the stage and perform on this number. They have selected such a hit songs for their performance. I was feeling odd that I am waiting for them to finish their act back stage. We have also performed on the first day so I felt good after that. But that nostalgia will not go so easily.

So how are you going to handle the controversial situation on the show?

It is not easy to handle controversies. In first episode itself we had to handle controversies. But as hosts I think contestants do understand that it is just a part of the script and they do not have any complains against us. They know that we are doing our job and we are asking the questions which we have been instructed to ask. But if we feel that something really bad is happening then we do discuss it with the channel.
