Hello fellas..after watching tonight's episode, there are some views I have about tonight's episode...so bear with me, and I have no intent of offending any fandom...So lets get on with it...

Rajmata Priyamvada ~ Well, from what I get, her characterization has been inspired from Rajmata Gayatri Devi...I have no idea how royal people actually are, because they are always portrayed as the reserved sort, and present themselves in a different manner. It is also quite evident Priyamvada is quite obsessed with her looks and features and is trying to turn a blind eye to age catching up with her...

She is quite insecure about how she looks but does not let that insecurity come out before the photographers maintaining her regal air and pride..and she also zealously protects her son from the world, to maintain an air of mystery about the royal family. She looks quite strong from the outside, but she does not seem that strong in reality. Something is there within her heart and mind, which keeps worrying her, which I think we will get to know in the future.

Rana Indravardan ji ~ Well, he looks handsome and presents himself that way as well. But he like his mother is surrounded in his mind with past losses and failures and insecurities. And this entire hoo haa about gaining a victory in WWII, seems quite fishy to me. He really does not seem too pleased after winning a battle, because all he remembers is the battle scenes. There can be two things: either the battle which he is being given credit for , he has not won on his own merit, or he is a patient of PTSD...because the way they showed him tonight..his personality gave those type of signals...but that is my opinion.

Gayatri ~ With no offense to any fandom of DD, its just my opinion that DD's acting had a mixture of Geet and Madhubala...there was nothing new, nothing fresh about her. She is portraying a 1940s character. I don't think women of that era were so brave and Miss Smartypants. I think, and just I, that her character should have a little more reserve, a little more maturity and a little more stability...I don't intend to say that being bubbly and vivacious is a crime, but I guess the things I am talking about will come as soon as she enters the royal household...all these things will come with time...It could be that she is living in her own bubble and that will burst once she is married, and how she copes with it...but I still found DD's acting a bit OTT..

Rana's Uncle ~ Well kudos to Akshay Anand...I could never imagine the guy could pull off a villain's character...but the way he carried himself today...it was written all over his face "I am the villain of the show"...I mean he does not even need to pretend to be nice, because the way he carries himself shows that he is the 'VILLAIN'..

Well that's my opinion, do share your views ...

Yes I am a DD fan.. As a fan I would very much like DD to grow an actor.. I would like to see a bit more variation in DD's acting and make Gayatri different from Madhu and Geet! She has a tendency to go OTT during the bubbly act. I would like to see DD's acting a bit more mellowed down. I agreed with most of what you have said.

Lovely analysis.

I loved all characters in the episode. Eagerly waiting for the rest of episodes. As for DD, you wish will come true once she gets married I think as that's what it says in articles and from DD, etc saying the same. For now, I am enjoying this carefree yet educated and mischievous girl side of her because in her last show, her character was always serious, self-righteous, very emotional, sacrificing types for others, reserved and rarely would talk most of the time unless it was really needed type of character.
So Gayatri is a fresh change. I hope they don't make her all time serious and cry type again and maintain her being educated and smart or being clever. However, yeah, like you said I wouldn't mind it if they balance it and portray and develop her character nicely at the same showing how she matures although I do see her being mature right now too from the little bit it was shown when she was talking about Raja. But still, I would want how she grows up more when she becomes Queens and how she handles all. That will be interesting to watch.

Nice post and analysis again! :)

Regarding Drashti's character, I guess the cvs want Gayatri's character to be bubbly and a free spirit. Once Gayatri marries into the royal family, she might become more mature and reserved. In my opinion, I don't think Drashti was OTT but I do respect your opinion. 😊

A very interesting take! I totally agree with most of Ur points. I think Rajmata indeed is a very interesting character! And being honest here...I loved her the most today...Rana ji...Gayatri..Yh we will get to see and learn about them lots...but Rajmata was really fabulous! I really Love that proudness about her!
Rana ji...yeah...he has a painful past...from war and his 1st wife.. but I like the fact that they showed us that he is a soldier..who is has post traumatic stress from war..he too is quite interesting..

Coming to Gayatri..Yes her character is like many out there...and it's not DD who writes the character..She acts the character..Yh it might be quite similar to her old ones...but from story perspective...it is different.. in 1940s girls were not supposed to behave like that...they werent supposed to learn how to read and write...or be carefree...and I believe she can drive too...and the fact that her father adores her even after all this makes that character so different for that era ..in today's era...this is all normal and typical but back then it wasn't..

Tbh...I found the screenplay for today's epi OTT...the actors and characters saved the epi for me...they were the only thing that managed to keep me interested...

I loved DD, bt don't like her hairstyleeešŸ˜›
Sidharth never liked him in Pkyek but however loved his scenes in todays episode...

My favourite scene was his flashback of the war, sidharth acted amazing in those scenes... And the setting was also different for his introductory scene

Haven't seen the episode yet...it's going to air in an hour...so can't really comment on your analysis but whatever I read I liked šŸ‘šŸ¼

I do agree that Gayatri seems like a mixture of Geet and Maddy. However I think Geet was quite meek and subservient in the beginning...her bubbly-ness (not a word I know lol) came into being when she fled to Delhi and started working for Maan. Whereas Maddy was shown as a headstrong/bubbly girl in the beginning but then later turned into a doormat. I think this bubbly-ness is the only common factor between these three characters. Gayatri on the other hand doesn't seem meek nor a doormat (so far)...could be wrong though.

From what I've heard and read on the forum, Gayatri loves books. That is a very nice touch to her character. Usually you don't see a lot of typical Indian bahus focused on education. The only one I can think of from recent times is that Diya Bati chick.
Btw I do agree that sometimes DD has a tendency to be OTT during her bubbly scenes (and this is coming from a DD fan). She excels in emotional and romantic scenes though. Bubbly scenes are not her forte but I'm looking forward to seeing her grow as an actor :))

And coming to Sid...I have to admit that I've never followed his work (mostly because our desi vampire show wasn't my cup of tea)...but I'm loving whatever I've seen of him in the promos. There is no one better that would have suited the character of Rana as much as Sid does. He just emanates this royal aura, personality, charisma (whatever you want to call it) perfectly!

So excited to see how Rana and Gayu (I think that's my new nickname for her...gayatri is way too long to type out lol) love story progresses :) As long as they don't turn Gayu into another doormat, I'm on board but as soon as Gayu turns into a pathetic doormat, I'll say hello hi bye bye to this show šŸ˜†šŸ˜†

I loved Rajmata and even Sid seemed to be good. Don't have too many criticisms as such as I haven't seen them on screen too much before!
And over all, Ya I'd agree, the show was carried by the actors, but the DOP, sets, and somewhat "unique" introduction were all a major part in making the episode enjoyable.

Regarding DD:

You never know what they will do with Gayatri's character and all DDians are hoping she doesn't turn meek in the coming episodes; well we can hope. Gayatri does seem to be a mix of Geet / Maddy.
I liked her but I want some deeper layers in the characters and want her to be fierce.

Maddy anyways always has been highly underrated...well on india forums that is šŸ˜†
It was DD's most nuanced performance. A lot of the credit I'd say goes to ST who really extracted the best of DD (and VD for that matter) in MEIEJ, of course until both characters were butchered, which is typical for all Indian serials.

I loved how headstrong / self righteous she was and ALSO how mature she was. It made her a bit different from the typical Indian heroine. As a fan, I do agree that in "bubbly" scenes, DD does have a slight tendancy to go OTT but in serious, romantic, and emotional scenes, there is no one like her AND THAT IS WHAT ST CASHED IN ON - which is why MB as a character was so successful.
