Competition seems to be catching up with Kapil Sharma. The ace comedian, who has enjoyed a golden two-year run on the small screen with Comedy Nights With Kapil might soon make way for his contemporaries Krushna Abhishek, Bharti Singh and Sudesh Lahiri.
We have been informed that the channel is planning to bring Comedy Nights With Kapil (CNWK) to an end and launch a new show featuring his contemporaries. We had earlier reported that producer Vipul D Shah of Comedy Circus-fame is making a comedy show for Colors, which will feature Krushna, Bharti and Sudesh. The show has been titled Comedy Nights Roast.
Informs a source associated with CNWK, "The popularity of Kapil has suffered a huge blow over the months. While the creative team has been appreciated for its efforts, Kapil's tantrums are to be blamed for this development." We sent a text message to Preeti Simoes, creative head of the show, who laughed off the rumour. We also contacted the channel spokesperson, who denied the buzz, saying, "This is not true. Kapil's show is not shutting down."
