As far as business is concerned ...its a franchise involving people who work there as well...so for charity their salary should not be given?

Yes, many celebs donate. There is an old article about Akshay donating
http://www.koimoi.com/bollywood-news/salman-khan-thanks-akshay-for-rs-50-lakhs/

Karan donated 5 lakhs in 2011, when Salman asked it as fees for coming on the show. Karan told Salman he can't pay for his appearance, since he does not pay other celebrities. Salman did not do that season of Koffee with Karan, but Karan still donated.

Even on SRK's show Sabse Shaana Kaun, Karan Johar donated hsi share of the winning amount to Being Human.

I understand he pays salaries etc., which is why I said Net Profit.
It is hard to believe that in 1.5 years, despite a successful business and other celebrities donating, they could only donate 11 crores. I doubt the net profit is that low.

There are thousands of people who work for Being Human behind the scenes, production wise. They are getting paid. Being Human is not only being distributed in India but UAE and UK as well, and that's why it was able to generate 30 Million USD last year.

Wow, wonder how much of that 30 Million is being put back into the company to cover overhead costs and who all gets paid a salary for this business.

So it is essentially a large company that sells products to consumers and once it makes sure the thousand of employees/partners get paid, it uses the leftover profits to donate to charitable causes.

Someone explain to me how this is different than a large corporation donating millions for tax exemption purposes.
