@afghaniibabe, yes Shahid also appears to have a very healthy family dynamic. He loves his stepmother and she equally adores him. But I don't think he was always close to his father. His parents divorce wasn't a good one and he spent the first few years after that in Delhi with his mother and maternal grandparents. But these days they all seem like one respectful happy family. Also I have never heard Shahid refer to his siblings as half brothers or sister, he always calls them his brothers and his sister. Same with Bhatt kids, I have never heard them use the term half with respect to each other either.

Thats true. Shahid grew up with his mother and maternal grandparents, his father would only visit him once a year on his birthday. Thats also why he is so close to his mother's exhusband, Ishan' father, and has always used his surname officially. His passport says Shahid Khattar and not Kapoor, thinking about his father uses Kapur and not Kapoor? :s After moving to Mumbai and coming into the industry he has become close to his father and his family. This way it has made Shahid becoming close to every family member. First his mother and her parents, then close to his exstepfather as seeing him as a father figure and having a brother, too, from that relationship, and then his own father and his family and then again another stepfather. He is even close to Ishan's father's new family. As you say they all seem one respectable family now but thinking about it, hasnt he also been a little torn between all this..? But dont know why I feel like that nowadays he isnt as close to his mother as he was before :( ..

i don't think alia's grandmother was a german jew - i'm guessing that misconception seems to stem from this tweet by mahesh bhatt: https://twitter.com/MaheshNBhatt/status/433454649211777024. the tweet never mentioned that the grandfather was a jew- just that he dared to take on the nazi regime in his own small way. as far as i've read, trudi is german, presumably christian
