i don't think he has, can anyone confirm?

if he hasn't how come? he's a good actor, has the physique and the height

he excels in all genres, do you think he fail or succeed in this one?

I believe he would be more suitable for a role of freedom fighter set in British period than Raja Maharaja..

No.Akshay has the physique to play these kind of chars but he does too many films and these films need an actor to devote solely to the film for a longer period.

Actually yeah. He has the phsique for it. Maybe not a Jodha Akbar. But something like Gladiator or 300 (OMG this is Sparta <3). He'd be great actually.
