Today's world is competitive world, with lots going around every households. Each household is surging for success and survival, that involves that members of family are profficient and capable to face the competitive world.

Members of family have expectations, for which they train young one's the tacts of survival and be the best. Am not talking about expectation beyond the roof, just to survive with ease.

Well the innocent 10 year old of 70's, if promoted to future of todays world, has less scope to put up with changed world. That implies there are no more kids, kids have to be smart as per the want of today's age, innocense is long gone term when mentioning kids. Agreed? So are today's kids no more kids but are very much like grown ups?

ooh ya ! I definately agree kids are no more kids today, they know a lot more than we knew when we were them. 😲

be it technology, human biology or movie history, they are just good to go!!!
i remember, one of my little cousin, 8 year old, kept guiding me on a good PS2 game and i still lost to him 😳 😕

another one, 8,had seen some movie and narrated me the story, my hair stood straight when she told there was this guy who was a "contract killer" and did this and this and this.... 😲

and my mom let me watch movies after grade 6, nowonder I am so dumb 😉 😆

Yes far too many kids are losing their childhood far to early now. I have seen too may kids jaded before their time. Since everything moves in fast forward nowadays, perhaps kids are being pushed to grow up way too early. For instance, 'sexy' was not an adjective we heard a lot when we grew up. But now on TV, in movies everything and anything attractive is described as sexy and it is a word even very young kids are exposed to, so much so that a 6-year old girl is called Sexy in the recently released movie Cheeni Kum. Most likely if we taught our kids to slow down a bit, see the magic in the little things of life, take it easy and keep that little bit of innocence alive at least they can look at the magic of a sunset and the blossoming of a flower with the sheer joy that only a child is capable of.

But I would like to believe that somewhere inside the tough as nails attitude still lies a little child who still believes in rainbows and unicorns and fairy tales and magic. How else can you explain the success of Harry Potter etc? But then I believe that an inner child lies in each of us, even gown ups. We are just too busy and hung up schedules and deadlines to nurture that little child 😭.

This is so cool n shocking... I had been to this "Naamkaran" ceremony of a friend's daughter. I overheard an aunty haggling with her 5 yr old daughter in a corner...lol the daughter was telling her mum that she should have informed her of what was going to happen in this ceremony. The kiddo said to her mum.. "You said it would be something like a party, but this is traditional stuff where there is no masti! You can't just bring me here without telling me what it is about and without my consent!" (!!!!!!!!) My jaw dropped and I couldn't think anymore! A five year old....??? Common!!!

I mean ...are these Kids???? I mean as per definition...a small kid cant even THINK of saying all this or think of thinking So much into things right?!

Boy oh boy! Rather...girl oh girl! 😛 Ufff...yeh aaj kal ke bachchey!

Kids have always been keen and quick to adapt to and emulate the environment they live in. It has been true in every generation of kids and adults have difficult time grasping that fact. As for that six year old being called sexy in Cheeni kum , I am not sure if "sexy" means same to a kid and an adult. I think kids today still have the innocence - abundance of toys/games, disney world, harry porter, x-mas proves that. And kids still enjoy the nature and sunsets provided their parents enjoy with them...!!!!

I agree with you. Kids are still kids and have innocence but the cicumstnaces made them grow and mature earlier. Knowing things doesn't means lacking innocence.
