Mr. Mishal Raheja our own beluved hotty Dutta Sriram Patil is back with a shw🥳❤️,,, Promos r out, no doubt he looks awesum charming and young. He will do great in this shw also. Bt I really have doubt about the shw topic, I mean How many are now interested in the topics like widow remarrige in 21st century?? The show is inspired from Prem Rog. Yes an awesum creation of Raj Kapoor, bt the film came at 80's I think, If I personally giv my opinion dan I can say dat agar mishal nehi hota to main show ka promo v nehi dekhti, Mishal choose the role, may it has some substance fr him, donno bt I feel dis shw nt gona b a big hit(sorry dont want to hurt anyone feelings, I give my opinion on practical basis), The female lead is new, hope she she is well verse in acting and copup with mishal incase of acting. I personally feel the show gona be boring, Main dekhungi for Mishal bt kitne din tak continue kar paungi depend on story. JUST HOPE YEH BHI LTL JAISA HI MUJHE GLUED KARDE..😕

thinking back even LTL didn't boast of an extraordinary story line or modern thought process . i mean in today's times which mother applies soot on her daughter's face to protect her ? and their habit of dragging tracks for months 🤢 still i managed to sit through all the episodes because of mishal's acting . i hope i can do the same again .
about the concept i'd say that colors is a rural channel it often goes for rural concepts

Am I the only one who gets "Water" (John Abraham & Lisa Ray) vibes from the promo?

In Prem Rog (now correct me please, if I'm wrong,) Padmini's character (character names escape me, it was before my time & I only came to know of the film because of 'that' infamous song, which my sister 'insisted' had to be played in her mehndi! Anyway...) so yep her character is supposed to be rich right? And after that awful fateful night at her in laws, she's brought back home right? So she actually lives back at home, of course not the way she used to, but nonetheless. At the same time, Rishi's character is a friend, who clichedly (is that a word?) poor and tries to brighten het life.

Here from what I've gathered, the lead (character names, please?) ends up at an ashram, very much like Water. Similarly, John's character is supposed to be a well educated, Gandhi supporter so he believes in a just society, well anyway, long story short he cones across Lisa-the widow one day and falls for her and comes to realise the horror, widows (young, old, pre-adolescent) face daily. The climax is quite tragic but I have to give it to Mira who gave a glimmer of hope with the final few minutes at the end of the story. Seriously guys,if you've not seen it, then do watch it. Highly recommended movie.

Getting back to my parallels, I feel that here the story will follow that path more-namely: Mishal come across the widow who lives in a ashram and with it, being quite 'modern' he feels appalled at the treatment of widows still in society. I mean it's a soap, so naturally elements will be stretched and dramatised and I am smart enough to know that eventually all soaps pan out the same way regardless of the initial spark and potential, but I kinda feel that the concept is more reminiscent of Water as opposed to Prem Rog.

Of course this is all speculation and it's only after we've had quite a run that we can begin to assume what direction the story shall eventually take, but that was the vibe I got.

And it was for that reason I could understand and tbh I admire Mishals decision to be associated with another daily soap. Honestly guys the male character is very charming in Water. So much so that I developed a crush on the character (I mean John js good looking and all, but I tend to develop crushes on characters-book/film/tv more than the actors portraying them.)

I hope we get another promo soon, that Naagin one has been running for so long and Lord, is it annoying. In fact that's the one annoying thing about colors is literally "promotes to death"

Edited: Should be Lisa Ray not Haydon. My bad!

Naila I really really hope that everything you said turns out to be true. I loved your take and I haven't watched the film water. Does the movie suggest that such practices are still prevalent ?

*SPOILER ALERT*

Actually, the ending is ghastly, but like a said there is a glimmer of hope. Basically *SPOILER* Lisa's character is all set to marry John's only til she finally meets his father and realises he was the one she was sent to in the recent past (basically these widows were prostituted) she ends up committing suicide, John's character is heartbroken and disgusted and so leaves town to join Gandhi on his mission, the glimmer of hope comes from a fellow older widow who was like a motherly figure to Lisa and another girl I think she is about 9 years old, follows John to the train station with the girl while she is being hunted by the people who run the ashram and wordlessly hands John the girl as the train starts moving. It's that moment of 'humanity still exists' which acts as that beacon of hope in an otherwise tragic tale.

I'm actually hoping now that this show does follow Water, maybe not entirely because I don't think a daytime soap will be so dark, but the subtly and harsh reality in that was conveyed, as morbid as this may sound, majestically.

When you put it that way, seen as in it's a daily soap, I imagine they may well go the whole 9 yards with the whole "naive girl to broken woman." Either way whatever path is chosen I hope it is executed well.
