Their love story has unfolded across two reality TV shows, but off screen too, Upen Patel and Karishma Tanna share a very real bond
Their love story started on a reality TV show " Bigg Boss " and has unfolded on another one: Nach Baliye. Upen Patel and Karishma Tanna even got engaged on the dance show, where they are now finalists. In an interview with us, they talked about their relationship milestones:
Upen, how did you plan the engagement on Nach Baliye, keeping it secret from Karishma?
Upen: Well, it was tough keeping it a secret as Karishma always asks me a lot of questions! But somehow, I managed. It took me two weeks and a lot of Internet research, but I wanted to make it as special as I could.
Karishma, what was going on in your mind when Upen proposed?
Karishma: I felt very shy. At the same time, it was extremely special and it was like a dream when Upen asked me to marry him.
What are the qualities that you both admire in each other and something you would like to change?
Upen: I admire Karishma's strength and family values. Currently there is nothing I really want to change. She is perfect. ?
Karishma: I admire his ability of always being positive and motivating everyone. He is my champion.
What was for you was a very special moment on Bigg Boss, where your relationship began?
Upen: I think the hijack task was a game changer for me; that's when I realised how much I care for her.
Karishma: Our first pani puri date; it was a dream.
How did your families react when you decided to take the relationship ahead?
Upen: My family was very excited to meet Karishma and loved her straight away. I'm lucky that my family always blesses me and wants me to be happy.
Karishma: If I am happy, my family is happy " but when they met Upen, they were happier!
What, according to you, does it take for a relationship to succeed?
Upen: I think communication is the key, also transparency. But above all, you need to be friends.
Karishma: I also feel communication and trust is important, as is being loyal.
What would your dream wedding be like? And any plans to tie the knot soon?
Upen: We just got engaged, so we will probably answer that question when we know.
Karishma: I'd love to have a beach wedding, and when we plan the wedding we'll surely let the world know.
Did it ever hurt you that people doubted whether you'll are a real couple?
Upen: Not really, because the people who matter to us, do know the truth. We're not here to prove our love to anyone.
Karishma: It hurt me a little bit but God bless the people who doubt our love.
