According to TOI Shashank has called it quits and serving three month notice period...

Jagya is once in a life time role and i will miss Shashank playing Jagya. But it was very much needed for Shashank to leave it as they are once again showing same thing in Jagya's life.

Jagya quits 'Balika Vadhu': Actor Shashank Vyas, who became a household name as Jagya in 'Balika Vadhu', has ended his five-year-long journey. He has quit the show and is currently serving a three-month notice period. Apparently, the actor felt stagnated. He was of the opinion that he had given it all to the character and there was nothing left to explore. This is the third big exit from the show, after Pratyusha Banerjee (the original Anandi) and Sidharth Shukla (Shiv). A source associated with the show reveals, "Shashank has expressed a desire to try something new as he feels that he has slipped into a comfort zone playing the same part for so long. He has explored all shades " positive and negative " as Jagya and now, wants to take up something more challenging." Despite repeated attempts, we couldn't reach Shashank for comment. Producer Sunjay Waddhwa also did not respond to our text message.

If the above new is true then it is a great move by Shashank. Yes his story has stagnated. The makers are once again putting him into the web of one woman over another. This time it is ex wife vs current wife web. However, that becomes repetitive and adds to the monotony of the show. No wonder both Ganga and Anandi have become irritating since they are being pitted against each other.

After the initial grey shades of J's life, the character has come out clean, positive and has grown in magnitude. Therefore J's journey as a character has ended and it is time for Shashank to try something different.

Would love to see a new show that casts Shanky, Prats and Sid together in a whole new avatar. (Not a triangular love story, but something where they all have prominent characters to play along with other female lead and cast.

Good luck to Shanky for his new journey.

If Shanky quits then only Surekha Sikri will remain as the original cast of the show.

If it is true then all the best for his future endeavours
Jagya's story did end with him coming back to his family, returning to his roots and marrying a girl who would fit into the family who will be his partner in professional and personal life.

What is happening now is just a repeat of what happened in his marriage with Gauri. This should have been shown way back before the leap and not now Ifhe quit because it is not offering anything new then he is right.

Hopefully the makers of the show and channel take home some lessons from all this.

Always thought he would be ideal to play male lead in Sharat Chandra Chatterjee stories.Hope someone would make a show based on one of his stories and cast him in that

There can be a leap. They may replace him with a mature(agewise) actor to play a father to a married son.

He opted to stay back even after leap to play father to a teen.So obviously that was not a problem for him despite his young age.
But instead of focussing on that phase of life which had something new busy professional life communication gaps rebellious children they just were focusing on ex Vs curent wife

They could have done much better with the stories of Anandi and Jagya even if the screen space is less.

Jagya Ganga on one side with their children Anandi Shivam SN they could have showed a lot of new things even with the limited screen space.

Or atleast setting Anandi against Jagya/Ganga on various issues at least that would have been something new

There is a difference between playing a father to a school going son and a college going son or working son.Its a wise decision on his part. I dont think he is ready to play a grandfather.

True. Why should he be made to play grand father?

I really hope they put an end to Jagya and Anandi's characters.

While Jagya's reached it's destination Anandi's role should end with rescuing Nandini giving her mother's love and rescuing Mangala enabling both Mangala and Nandini to take on Akheraj Singh.

They can take the show forward with the gen next with Nandini as the central character and move the story Nadndini Shivraj Shekhar Vs Kundan Singh

Don't really want to see them playing parents to grown up children. If they retain the characters they will be sidelined even in the story to make space for the new generation.

Hope they end both Jagya and Anandi characters.

It would have been ideal if J-G story focused more around parents of teenage kids as well as established professionals who are caught up in the cobweb of busy lives, thereby coming up with nevnecessary drama.
But Cvs chose a wrong plot and brought back one woman over another for J, as a drama point. Not interested Cvs. Hence J quitting is well justified. Plus who knows, Shanky would also have to play a grand father. Wouldn't be fair.

-----'

So what next? Is J going on photo frame or are we having a new face to get adjusted to?

Even if they want to keep J A stories tangled they could have easily made a story with SN as a stage or them having differences over projects that are being taken up in Jaitser because J and A are totally different in their approach as far as their personalities go.
They never really showed J and A clashing as two individuals before. They were shown as husband and wife then friends now why can't they show the friends falling out with each other over issues other than wife objecting to ex wife/friend?Which actually would have been so much better

Or they could use the same Ganga Vs Anandi over the stand they have taken in Sarita Pooja and Mannu issue which as some logic because of the way they look at things and also because Anandi feels that she is responsible for Sarita and Pooja

That scene between G and A is downright silly fighting over who looks after Dsa

But I guess people like us are in minority and there are more people who prefer seeing them only through the prism of ex wife husband.🤢
