They were just done with the editorial meeting and she was fuming
Ananya Kashyap was furious ! The audacity of that woman Malvika!
It was one thing to be sugary sweet when addressing Kabir but today she had graduated to occasional arm touching , shoulder rubbing ! And he seemed to be enjoying all of it !!
' Ananya madam aapko Kabir sir ne bulaya hai'- Peon told her
' Nahn bhi bulate toh bhi main jaati'- she informed him barely reigning her temper.
She went straight to his cabin without knocking .
' Tumne interview pe kaam shuru kar diya?'- Kabir asked her
What did he think she was ? A daft ?
' meeting do minute pehle khatam hui. Main kya genius hun. Jyada jaldi hai toh Malvika ko bol do'- she snapped at him
' Arre ab kya hua? Malvika interview mein kaise as gayi?'- Kabir asked all perplexed
These two utter idiots had ironed out their differences and had decided to explore the nature of their relationship.
Ananya wanted to talk about this new development with her friends but she found herself in a very precarious situation. She wanted Ronnie to get over the hurt and then wanted to break the news to her two best friends !
'Hum sab editorial meeting mein the. She talks to you as if she wants to eat you up. The worst part is you seem to enjoy it'- she banged her hand on his table.
' Ananya. She is the owner's daughter. I have to be pleasant with her'- he reasoned.
' Pleasant ! My foot. That was open flirting. Aise toh I should be extra pleasant to Manav Sir , he is my senior'- she fumed.
' Ananya. You are blowing it out of proportion. It is not as if I'm hiding anything from you'- he told her softly.
Shit! He had not told her that Kahlid didn't show up for dinner last night and it was just Malvika and him.
He would tell but not right now ! It was just a dinner in a very public place with CCTv.
On cue Malvika walked in Kabir's cabin and saw the two of them.
' Kya chal raha hai?'- she asked as she sat down on the seat
' kuch nahn. Interview ki details final kar rahe hai. Kuch kaam tha ?'- Kabir asked wanting to rush out of the room. He stole a glance at Ananya and saw her throw daggers at him.
' OK good! '- she dismissed the interview.
' Kabir I just wanted to thank you for the dinner last night. So sweet of you and you ordered my favourite wine . I will have to repay this favour' - she told him
Kabir paled knowing what would Ananya think. Ananya took the other seat that was empty.
' Sir aap dinner pe the? Magar aapne toh mujhe aur Sunny ko kaha ki aap kisi lead ko follow kar rahe the'- Ananya asked him in a sugary fake tone
' No Ananya. He was with me and we had dinner . he is a very chivalrous man as he dropped me home too.'- she told Ananya totally clueless of the mess she was getting Kabir in.
' Acha Kabir , I lost my bracelet ,please check if it is in your car'- saying this Malvika walked out of the cabin.
And the staring game began! She stared at him in anger and he stared at her apologetically.
' I can explain baby'- Kabir told her
' Kabir , keep your explanations with yourself. I'm done.'- she told him
' Done what ? I can't help it. Khalid decided to bail at the last moment. I couldn't walk out as well. So we had dinner and I dropped her off home'- he reasoned with her.
' you think this is about dinner ? This is about you keeping things from me.I want the truth from you no matter sordid it is'- she huffed and went to her desk.
This is when he hated being the editor in chief. He hated having all his movements monitored by the staff. It was not fair to Ananya. She had been more than co operative so far and today he knew he had goofed up. He went up to her desk and saw her reading the papers intently.
' Ananya'- he called out her name
She looked up and he saw her watery eyes and a red nose. He had made her cry !
She picked up her back pack and walked out of the office.
He went back to his cabin and slumped in his chair. His one stupid mistake had hurt her so much.
He picked up his phone and typed a message-
' I'm so sorry love. I was not trying the hide anything it was just that dinner with Malvika is so inconsequential. Please Ananya cheer up!'
He sent the message. He had to make it up to her.
' we will talk later'- came her prompt reply.
At least she was not giving up on him.

Later that evening.
Ananya had asked Sunny to head home as she dropped the details of the interview on Kabir's desk.
She knew he had a meeting with Khalid and would have left by now. She was no longer furious with him but she was just upset. She knew he didn't have a single unfaithful bone in his body.
She opened his cabin and dropped the files. She turned when she saw Kabir seated on the sofa.
' You are still here ? I thought you had a meeting with Khalid'- she told him as she headed towards him.
' I had a meeting and I cancelled it'- he told her as he asked her to join him on the sofa.
She went and sat next to him-' wasn't the meeting important ? '
' Oh ! It was important. It was with KL too. They wanted to work out details to have me as a partner in the firm'- he told her.
' Are you crazy ? And you didn't go? Are you out of your mind '- she looked at him sideways almost screaming.
He smiled at her and in a swift motion had her sitting on his lap.
' Mere liye Jo sabse important hai Woh abhi mere saath hhai. This partnership etc doesnt meab much ' - he told her as he softly tucked her curl behind her ear.
' Abhi bhi naraaz ho?'- he asked her.
She continued to fiddle with his collar and shook her head -' I'm not angry. I'm just upset that you didn't tell me.'
He took in her sad eyes and spoke keeping his finger under her chin forcing her to look at him-' intentionally nahn kiya. Khalid didnt turn up for dinner so the two of us had dinner. We discussed work and I dropped her home. Uske baad I came home , called you but I guess you were sleeping.'
' Ananya. I hate being the reason for your unhappiness.'- he told her softly.
He stared in his beautiful honey eyes that spoke so many emotions.
' thanks for telling me the truth. You are not the reason for my unhappiness but the sole reason for my happiness'- she told him as she put her arms around his neck and met his lips for a kiss.
Kisses with Kabir with electric and she could never have enough of this crazy man!
' I love you Ananya!' - he told her as he plundered her mouth with another kiss.
And she could also never have enough of him telling her that he loved her.
' I got you a gift.'- he told her.
' Gift? But it is not my birthday?'- she told him confused
' do I need an ooccasion to gift you something ? Every day with you is worth celebrating '- he told her lovingly.
He pulled out a jewellery case from his pocket and handed it to her.
She opened it to find a beautiful platinum charms bracelet.
' Oh Kabir it is gorgeous'- she hugged him again.
He took the bracelet in his and told her-' the first charm is a heart because you have my heart. Second charm is an angel because you are my guarding angel. Third charm is a lamp because you are my shining light and the fouth charm is home. You are my home Ananya and you are where my heart lies'
He took her arm and tied it around her wrist.
Ananya looked at the bracelet on her wrist and then at Kabir whose eyes held a promise of forever.
' I love you Kabir, forever' - she told him as she rested her head on his shoulder.
She thanked the heavens for man she was with!
They would sail to their happily ever after!
