Popular Punjabi actor and singer Gippy Grewal, who is making his Bolly debut with Second Hand Husband, parts ways with Honey Singh and collaborates with Badshah

Gippy Grewal and rapper-singer Yo Yo Honey Singh go back a long way. When Honey entered the Punjabi music industry, Gippy was already a big name. Says Gippy, "Honey used to come to me and say he wanted to work with me. We worked for two-three years and collaborated on a few Punjabi songs including the Angrezi Beat number,which was a huge hit and later incorporated in Cocktail. Later, Honey made his Bollywood debut and I was busy with Punjabi films, so we didn't work together."

Now, when Gippy is making his foray into Bollywood, Honey was the first person the actor got in touch with. "I contacted Honey to collaborate on songs for my Bollywood debut. When he came to Punjab, I was busy and later he went on a tour with Shah Rukh Khan. But after he came back he just vanished. His songs also weren't working. I kept trying to get in touch with him and his manager came to meet me. I told the manager, if we have to work on songs, Honey has to meet me. But that never happened. Honey then became incommunicado. I kept messaging him, asking him about his health as I heard he wasn't keeping well, but he would reply intermittently."

In the meantime, Badshah who had made his Bollywood entry with songs like Saturday Saturday (Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania) and Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui (Khoobsurat) got in touch with Gippy. "He came to me with a wide choice of 50 songs and I chose Bad Baby because it had a new flavour," says Gippy. The Second Hand Husband actor has now decided to colloabrate with Badshah for all his future songs either Hindi or Punjabi.

Amolak Singh, who is producing Second Hand Husband avers, "Gippy gave Honey the biggest song Angrezi Beat in which Gippy was the singer and Honey rapped. But now when Gippy is entering Bollywood, Honey didn't respond, so in the future, he will work only with Badshah."
