I don't quite understand Mishraji's attitude.

Earlier, he couldn't bear the sight of his son and couldn't care less if he broke the dahi handi or his own head. There was no pride in any of Milind's achievements, however small. Now, Milind's the best thing since sliced bread and nothing Milind does is wrong. He's 'Mera Beta' now. Indeed, the one in the wrong is Sukriti. Can't he love his children at the same time, warts and all?

My conclusion is this. Now that Milind's as rich as Croesus, he's the best son ever.Plus, he's married the boss's daughter.

That's another thing I don't get.

Why doesn't he ever wonder how it all happened? I'm sure he knew about Milind and Ayesha's relationship in the chawl. As far as he knew, there was no contact bt Prachi and Milind. But, not once does the man ask how it all transpired.

I don't quite like the man. Except for the fact that he might be instrumental in getting Milind and Prachi together.

I think that he knows that P and M are having problems when P found him in the rain so he will help to bring them together again for he know how stubborn his son can be.

Well probably he won't win the best dad of the year award indeed... I don't really understand either but I'll give a try and guess.

I see Mishraji as a very simple, straight man. It seems like for him, people have their own place and must act accordingly, and their honors lie in the way they accept their place and do the best with it. He kinda worshiped the Shahs for they were his master and he took pride in being a good servant. Btw Milind despised this, for he might think that nobody really deserves such devotion, and certainly not Alaap.

So it hurt Mishraji deeply to see his daughter tried to trick his master's son (we know it's not true but he doesn't, and yes rather blind devotion towards Shahs and lack trust for his own daughter). For him, his daughter truly threw a mud on his face.

Prachi was someone he adores, worships and cares for. She's the apple of his master's eyes. He might feel that his son actually doesn't deserve to be with her, but being a traditional man he firmly believes in marriage and that now his son is the husband of Prachi, there's nothing could give him more pride. So naturally he felt tremendous joy that his son has in an 'honorable way' raised their status by making him a real relative of the Shah family. I don't think the actual 'being rich' part matters to Mishraji. The marriage definitely is.

The end:)

I dont think he ever disliked his son. He only did not like him sitting unemployed at home when his boss was only too willing to give him a job. Regarding the dahi handi matter, he must have felt that his son was only interested in frivolous celebrations rather than improving his life. I think most parents would react that way if they feel their children are wasting their lives. Now he has seen that his son is more responsible he is not picking at him. It is but natural to feel proud of one's son's achievement. Dahi handi is now not an issue.

I do not think he dislikes Sukruti also. He is angry with her. Give him time to forgive her. Generallt men are supposed to be more firm with their children than women. So the guy cannot really be faulted.

Regarding as to why he has not enquired about how MICHI got together, this baffles me too. Maybe we can presume that Prachi told him everything on their way back to the Shah Mansion. That's how it is with Ekta Mai's serials. Not always logical.

ok.. i think most of what i think has already been mentioned above by Magno and optimist.. but i thought i'd chip in my two cents as well..

At heart i think Mishraji is basically a very honest and loyal man... he was in the employ of Inder Shah who treated him very well.. and even helped educate his daughter.. and i'm sure there were many other such favors over the years. He was angry and disappointed with his daughters supposed actions that causes him to alienate her.. he probably feels that he hasn't given his children the right values or hasn't brought them up the right way.. but i think once the truth is out in the open he will regret his actions.

Regarding Milind.. He never disliked his son.. but he was annoyed that a son he worked so hard to put through college didn't get a job.. i remember in the episode where Milind is introduced Mishraji says Milind doesn't want to take any favors but how will he survive in this world if he doesn't follow its ways.. i think he was primarily annoyed that although Milind could have gotten a job with the Shah's Milind chose to stand on his own.. a decision i'm sure Mishraji now respects.. Miind has managed to do so much in such a short time..

And lets face it Prachi dos have this sense of sorrow about her all the time.. I don't think that Mishraji is saying that Milind might be the cause... but he wants Milind to be the solution.. thats how i interpreted it anyway..

Thanks for reading guys..

I soo agree with u on that him been married to Prachi give him joy the most other then him been rcih he love it that he rchi now but he love Milnd more now and that is because his own son is Prachi's husband I think it a joy thing for him

Except for the fact that Mishraji is gonna play cupid between M and P for reasons only too obvious to everyone watching, I dont see a reason for his presence around... I dont have any particular liking for the man...

I second every word Pippa has said...

A man who has always be subversive to the Shahs and now jus coz Premlatha and Dadiji have called him samdhiji and said , barabari ka rishta and all that , he walks around the house like he owns it , and the tone in which he calls Prachi is far from affectionate to me , rather its more of an haq banta hai mera...

Well haq banta hai, Mishraji, par zara apne hi mooh se kahe gaye shabdon ka lihaaz tho kijiye...

And since when did Prachi become the bahu he always wanted? Did he actually think , his so called , Nalayak beta deserved someone like Prachi ? Oh man, this buddha sure had high hopes I tell ya !

Ek tho Prachi jaisi bahu and then jus coz she reads you geeta while you are down in bed, she becomes the family... mera parivaaar meri bahu prachi hai? Hello Uncle, Beta kya tel lene gaya hai ???

Aur aapki beti ? Arre uncle, apni beti par vishwaas nahin karte... aur Alaap se aise baat kar rahe hai jaise khud ka damaat ho! Arre kuch tho sharam karo uncle... Jinke talwe aapne chaate zindagi bhar , wo tho tapak gaye.... ab tho band karo talve chaatna.... "aap maalik hai abhi bhi"... Grrrr.... !

His pride lies in the fact that his beta became laayak enuf to marry the daughter of his malik and nothing else!?!

Dahi Handi may not matter... like Optimist said, but then that Mera Beta hug was certainly irksome.... To me it seemed such a facade infront of his bahu , looked like Sr Mishra was trying to impress his bahu rather than the son himself... well ye alag baat son dosent have to try!

And yeah , all said and done, its how the creatives have etched this character out... and may be such ppl do exist... I dunno...

But if this man mishraji could've redeemed himself , it would be only when he had done something to find out abt his daughter and stand by her, rather than walking around like she dosent exist anymore? Nautanki agar Shahs and Shergills hai according to Milind, tho bhaisaab, aaapne Poojya pitaaji, ek dramebaaz nautanki se kuch kam nahin hai! Pita ke emotions ki unhone aisi vaat lagayi hai ki poocho mat!

Arre kabhi tho apne dono bacche se kuch hoyiye... pehle sukruti acchi tho milind nikamma, aur ab Milind 'mera beta' ... aur Sukruti..."kya pata?"

Kya ajeeb sample hai yeh aadmi!

Arre ede Milind, apne baba se pyaar karta tha... and didnt like the attitude of him be subversive to Shahs , but even now its the same... Shahs will always treat them well... jus that Mishraji will always feel like he got the moon , coz his son married Prachi Shah! Grrrrrrrrrr

My 2 cents...

And yeah, I do agree with Magno and Optimist on the aspects they pointed out and no denying that !

But what gets to me is the way this character has been etched... its seriously demeaning the essence of fatherly feelings and fatherhood!
And I stand by the fact that the way this character has been etched out , doesn't leave any worthwhile impression!

You know , in all honesty, the entry of Mishraji as playing between M and P, really irked me...

Why cant they have M and P realize their feelings slowly and genuinely with out the interference of some Buzurg in the house??

Saala ishq aur nain ladaana , buzurg logon ki meherbaani ho chala hai in these serials! ! Uff! Credit them with more than that ! 😡

No offence to anyone or any of the older characters in the serial! Due respect to them, but I truly believe they should not be used as mere cupids for the lead couple to fall in love and should be put to more use as in using their brains and realizing the truth for what it is, as in the case of Mishraji!
