Two minutes only.
My heart was beating like a hammer against my chest. I could not recognise my own feelings for a moment. I was excited and nervous at the same time. After I open my eyes...
I stopped thinking as I felt familiar cold fingers entwining with mine and I surely knew to whom it belonged to. My heart calmed a bit at his touch and I clutched at his fingers and smiled a little.
And the two minutes ran off like seconds and my nurse slowly removed the grudge cloth around my eyes. I became more and more excited as the cloth thinned around my eyes and finally it was off.
"Try to open your eyes slowly."
My nurse instructed me.
I obeyed her and slowly opened my eyes. A blurred vision at first and then infront of me I saw him.
But it was completely new for me. His face. I slowly lifted my hands upto his face feeling his face to confirm that it was him only. He showed a mixed expression of happiness and worry as I tried to recognise him with my fingers. And it was confirmed.
"Yuvraj"
I merely whispered and his lips curved into a charming smile. I kept looking at his face as if trying to memorise his features. It felt like I got the chance to see him and it would go away if I missed it.
He had thick hair and a very sharp face. His brown eyes glistened with tears which I was sure were of happiness. He had a well built body as well.
Man! He's handsome!
Did I just call him handsome? Well he was. What a mistake I had done to have mocked him saying he was no match to Ranbir Kapoor but at that moment I felt he was even better than my favourite actor.
I did not know that with these thoughts a blush had already appeared on my face until he notified me of that.
"Suvreen, I think I see something red on your cheek"
"What?"
I said in reflex and touched my cheek and heard his chuckle.
Oh god! I hope he doesn't read thoughts of people, now does he?
I was brought out of my trance and blushing session as some more people entering the room I was in. I couldn't recognise any of them with my eyes but I did, with my heart.
Yuvraj got up to give a seat to my mother. My mother sat beside me and caressed my head. I noticed all of them had tears in their eyes. I looked at my mother and hugged her smiling.
"Mamma, I'm back...with the ability to see the world."
I said beaming even though tears flowed.
"Yes my dear. I am so happy." She held my face and kissed my forehead gently.
My dad came to me and hugged me. He wound an arm around me and smiled at me.
My little sister pinched my nose. I looked at her and smiled. She twirled around and said,
"Di, tell me how do I look? You know I took extra hpurs to get ready today"
I laughed.
"My baby sister was always beautiful...even without these extra hours of dressing."
I could read her. She was trying to lighten the mood. The room was full of teary eyed people. And I tried to help her.
"Come on now. Close the running taps of your eyes or else this room will be flooded! That too with salty waters."
My trick worked. They all laughed. It felt so good to see your family happy. I missed a lot during my past but there was a hope of seeing it all again. Then I searched for the person was enjoying all this and he was nowhere in the room.
