I guess you can say it's not only youth oriented but family oriented show. But I guess we didn't have much luck getting trps. But I think this show is def a hit on the international level!!!
tbh -- i don't think TRPs are the sole reason for the show getting axed. EHMMBH aired on the same slot a few years ago and had the same TRPs as NAUC but it still lasted for 2 years. I feel like something went down between SP and NAUC PH. There's definitely bad blood. The ending of the show also forwarded to june 27 instead of july 17. the way the current track is going, it's totes better fitted (pacing and story-wise) for the july 17 ending than june 27 one.
Regarding EHMMBH, it ended because some of the leads - though it was never mentioned who specifically - did not want to be part of a story progression where they become parents, i.e. interacting with children older than just babies. But it was a very popular show and mostly likely would have continued if they'd been able to take a leap.
But you could be hitting the nail on its head and maybe there is something going down between SP and NAUC PH. I know Varun Badola was doing some directing towards the beginning of NAUC. I wonder if he's still involved. Anyway SP used the 'new thinking' slogan for a long time, probably still using it, but they've not been consistent in any kind of new thinking and they keep reverting back to the old formulas.
I do think it is untrue to say that only youth like the youth-oriented shows. Many older people find the sassbahu dramas quite irritating and overdone. For those who've said that TRPs may not be true reflections of viewers' tastes, they are probably correct.
