First Look: Shabana Azmi as Sonam Kapoor's mom in Neerja Bhanot biopic
Here is the first look of actress Shabana Azmi from the coming biopic of the intrepid flight attendant Neerja Bhanot.

In the movie Shabana Azmi plays Rama Bhanot, mother of Neerja Bhanot, played by Sonam Kapoor. Incidentally, Shabana has met Rama and got along with her fine.

"I had the good fortune of meeting Ramaji in person last year when I was invited to Chandigarh to present the Neerja Bhanot Award. She is lovely and we get along really well. When I was offered the role, I felt it was because of a special connection we made," Shabana Azmi said in a statement.

Being produced by lensman Atul Kasbekar, the Neerja Bhanot biopic tells the story of Neerja, the attendant of a hijacked Pan Am flight who fought the terrorists and sacrificed her life to save the passengers.

The film is being directed by Ram Madhvani.
About her reason for signing the film, Shabana Azmi said, "Sonam is the daughter of Anil (Kapoor) and Sunita (Kapoor) who have been very close friends for more than 30 years. I have watched her grow up and I have deep affection for her. Last but not the least, I look forward to work with Ram, who has been friend of many years and whose taste for cinema I share."
