Have the Standards for Actresses Dropped?

Yes - there are more opportunities out there today for actresses to get better roles and better work than lets say 10 years ago - but has the quality/standard of our actresses declined?

We went from having Kajol/Karishma/Madhuri to Aishwarya/Rani/Preity to Katrina/Kareena/Priyanka...to Deepika/Vidya/Kangana...and now the upcoming lot is Alia, Parineeti , Shraddha. I just feel like the current lot can't compare to the previous lots!

I just feel the quality has decreased greatly. Shraddha has the looks, but hasn't proven herself yet...Alia has no looks but has contacts...Parineeti has the talent but no versatility. None of the can be sexy...none of them can act like Kajol/Rani...they can't dance like Madhuri/Aishwarya...and they certainly dont look like Deepika or Katrina...and they defiantly can't act as good as Vidya or Kangana...Shraddha/Alia/Parineeti can never be "all-rounders" they can't be ICONS - I just dont see it or feel it to be honest...I dont get that "larger than life superstar" vibe from them. and I just feel that they dont match up! I know people have doubted Katrina/Aishwarya but at least they had a star presence, high level of beauty and star quality...Do the new girls even have that? I dont even think the new girls can pull off an item number which is the most basic thing that one can do 😆Do you feel the standard for the future has dropped?

Yeah I do feel the same...but if I have to say in park/Alia/ shradda...parineeti is already faded..I dont think she will be able to get back to A list...and also Dp/kangana are not gonna retire soon as well...dont even look at likes of dp/ kangana, ppl are still watching PC/ bebo/ Aish/ kajol/ rani...so it means there is still lot time for Alia/ shraddha to reign ...and being sexy I dont even feel anyone sexier as they still look somewhat with baby face to me esp. Alia

Alia, Shraddha and Parineeti are not sexy and probably will never be sexy in the way that Deepika or Katrina are. But then neither was Kajol or Rani, or Madhuri. Kajol or Preity were not dancers. Katrina can't act. Each era has their different groups. I certainly don't think the 90s had any all rounders. Heck personally I never thought Karisma, Kajol or Rani were much of lookers. And I think Alia is very talented and Parineeti is right behind her. Shraddha has the beauty that Kajol or Karisma lack. Then we have Kriti, Yami and Lisa Hayden who can be considered this era's sexy girls.

So no, I don't think any standards have dropped.

I guess she is in a way, but I see a more motherly, homely sorta quality to her. Of course, that gets eradicated quick if that blind about her seeing a married director is true 😆

I have only seen Yami in that commercial with Sid and a few pictures of her. So based on that yea I do think she has sex appeal. I might change my mind if I see her in a movie. I guess this proves that sex appeal or sexiness is subjective as well.
