regional votes-get a life

let me ask one ques to everyone...why is it so big deal when ppl vote for prashant from his darjeeling...and a proud thg when ppl from sillong vote for amit..doesnt both counts as a regional votes???? in my opinion they are voting for their fav contestant either it is Prashant or Amit..

I went thru so many threads here and there in this forum and everyone is sayin prashant is here becoz of votes from darjeeling or nepalese..same ppl please explain me..why is amit here???do u guys think he'll survive if his sillong votes were not there???or watever his language is i.e.khasi ....we saw the result b4 wildcard round..he was already eliminated..

now if nepali ppl from darjeeling vote for prashant then it became regional vote and khasi ppl vote for amit then its a wise thg to do. ppl stop being biased. they got there coz of their talent and popularity..ppl love them...especially prashant. he is honest..humble..and a true gentleman..which is hard to find these days..

I truly think prashant's fans are very loyal to him..they are not just sayin "i'm prashant's fan" but spending money so that he can win and make his dream come true. they really love him.and if somebody is jealous of him getting so many votes then plz stop giving negative comments bout him but go and spend some money and vote for ur fav one..well now only amit is left

especially judges and anchors they are beggin janatas not to vote their regional contestant but the fav one..i think this is a crap..why will ppl vote for someone whom they dont like..ppl are spendin their money to vote..i dont think its bout regional its bout their fav..and them here they dont like to see prashant gettin all those votes.

i agree amit's singing is excellent but i wont say prashant's is bad..he is outstanding too..amit's korakagaz rocked the audience yesterday but wat bout prashant's bheege hoth....it was superb...i dont think amit would be able to sing like that..wat i'm sayin is both has their own place...their own talent..

At this stage I dont think regional votes matter that much - if the whole india is voting then how much does the region matters - but i think the saddest part is the whole india doesn't votes - it only the region the has some contestant votes - which is a pretty bad trend - if you think whole india voted for Emon then do u think the votes from Darjeeling or Shillong wold have mattered ? these places are just miniscule as compared to whole India

I was born and brought up in Shillong and Amit happens to be my junior from school (St Peter's in Shillong).
I used to watch II occasionally and never voted.

The other day I had gone to a restaurant in Bangalore to pack some food. It was a Chinese restaurant run by some Nepalis...as the food was taking some time to prepare..I started talking to one of the waiters...I came to know that they were from Darjeeling..so I asked the waiter did he watch II..he said they do and vote for Prashant...
then i asked them..who sings well..they said it was Amit who sings better but they will vote for Prashant since he is from their community and they feel it as a duty to vote for him
When Amit was eliminated in the Piano round..they felt sad and voted for Amit to be brought back but now things are different..they need to help one of their own
I dont blame them..instead such selfless attitude is admirable and inspiring..it is their money..they should decide whom to vote for...if it is Prashant,..so be it..I dont know why anybody shud have a problem with that and bring up the India-Nepali issue..it is ridiculous and sick...Prashant is very much a Nepali-Indian...just as Monty Panesar (English Cricket Team) is a Indian-British

well...just to let you know....i have decided to put in atleast 200 votes for Amit in the finals...if need be...i will probably give more...its time I did something for Shillong...and my dear junior AMIT...

😕 Don't know how to bring the good singers on board. We should come out of regionalism and cast vote for the best. After all, it is Indian Idol and not a Regional Idol we are looking for.

regionalism is here to stay, wrong or right..its better if everybody just gets used to it

Justifying reasons for favoring regionalism really is unacceptable. These singers don't need your pity. If Emon, Deepali, Puja weren't capable and were eliminated before Prashant would have been perfectly okay. I understand that Prashant is a very likable personality and there is hardly anyone who does not like him (from what we have seen of his conduct in public) but voting for him because of his country of origin is just plain dumb. It is nice to see who is from the same region as yours but "let's just vote for him even if he is not talented enough, make his dream come true, he is honest, humble and a true gentleman" e.t.c. is utterly riddiculous.

I don't think he is besura but not surila enough to be in the final. Ask yourself, and if you think what is happening is justifiable then I have nothing to say. Just remember next time if you aren't treated fairly and someone was favored in your place inspite of your better qualifications just don't complain.
