I actually did not know the meaning of baagi. I thought, it means don or street goon. Not naxalites. So yesterday's episode was unanticipated. It diverted my attention from KaYa chemistry to issues and Kabir's "Jaane se Pehle".
There is always two faces to the coin. Terrorist for one is the freedom fighter for another. We need to stop looking things as black and white, instead grey. But "Jaane se Pehle" nailed it. Negative mindset or violence cannot bring the desired result, it only goes in self destruction mode.
Too many things associated with Naxalites situation. Yes, corporate culture encourages human greed (which is shown nicely by KKN bosses. They are not evil, but are selfish). It is not just corporate/ farmer mindset, population growth also feeds into the problem. Nature cannot satisfy everyone if population keeps souring + everyone gets greedier.
It may not be possible for an ordinary citizen or journalist to tackle the issue. But, he needs to bring the other side of the society (with it's positive and negative), without glorifying (like Ms. A Roy) or demonising them.
"Reporters" has been able to bring out the issue dispassionately, despite being a prime time entertainer soap. Any serial cannot sustain just with lead's romance, eye locks, trip and fall and usual cliches. It needs a background to build up a drama. Instead of involving family members or a vamp to set this up, 'Reporters' is making use of current issues. My respects for the entire team.
