Traditional household - Hubby works hard, all responsibility of finances adn world, less interaction at home. Women at home manages home and guy manages outside.

Modern Household - both balance life devote same time and energy at work and home.

Pros of traditional household -

1. Assumed to be equality for women.

2. Less or no frustration for women counter part.

3. Well defined toles for both.

4. Children are least impacted and can mentally make big, per scientific study.

5. Historically sucessfull setup.

Pros of modern household-

1. Equal responsibility..

2. No frustration or no scope for dominanace.

3. Ambitions can be acheieved.

4. No insecurity.

There are so many cons in both setup, lols will leave you guys to think and point it out.

Debate - Traditional way of living or modern way of living? why and additional inputs appreciated.

Think about it. Expecting sensible responses here. Thanks!

Isn't this similar to the various debates we had on working mom vs stay-at-home moms? Because in traditional and modern households dads are expected to work outside and it is only moms who gets oppurtunity to choose.

I agree its kind of sum up, there are various aspect such as impact of kids in day care who are more viable to going the negative route in life as compared to kids staying with mom, etc. Its a proven fact, BTW.

Will be adding more if this debate takes off.

Raj, I don't see it to be a proven fact 😳 . Most of my colleagues in the top notch work places went through day care and baby-sitting.
They neither cheat on their spouses, nor do they do drugs, nor are they irresponsible in any way. Some of them also come from divorced parents! Hence I would like to see the actual proof of how kids gets messed up by going to day care as opposed to watching zee tv 😆 (j/k @ last part since many of my stay-at-home friend moms actually do that after seemingly SACRIFICING a career they never had 😊) .

I strongly believe that QUALITY TIME with PARENTS is what makes kids successful. My sister in law sitting at home watching ZEE TV is not doing her daughter any favor, while my nephew at day care is miles ahead of her daughter.

Moms giving quality time to children make great mothers..

edited- sentence in bold to clean up grammar gone kapoot..

Vinu, are you talking about traditions here?

The debate topic poster has divided houses with working women as modern household, while houses with stay-at-home moms as traditional household. It is hence impossible for modern household in this context to be 60% traditional!

Supporting modern household doesn;t mean throwing away traditional values. It just means women not sitting at home, and working outside as well as providing quality time and care to their kids during after-work hours instead of just cleaning after kids and playing with them / taking care of them all day by themselves.

In fact, even stay-at-home moms should send their kids to daycare for a much better exposure to environment, social growth, adjustment skills, co-operative qualities and discipline 😊.

Yes i agree with your views..and the good point is ppls understanding the various consequences of social change at different stages of a person's life..and i think household is not a monolithic unit..and sometime showing the actual complexity of interacting human lives that lies behind the misleading unity of the household and i know that roles in a society differ by age...and society has its own cultural timetable for the appropriate progress of the individual life cycle.😊

Thanks.. I do see that you are inspired by thoughts similar to

I was wondering if you could elaborate on the sentence in bold - especially the misleading unity of household?
Thanks..
