Part 31
All clapped hard as he finished the song kneeling down in front of her on one leg, head bowed. Everyone whistled anticipating a breathtaking proposal, while Geet felt her heart almost stopped.
Slowly he extended his one hand in front of her, and started to speak, making her heartbeat go high every fraction of second.
Maan: Geet!
There was a long pause after that as maan and geet were lost in each other's eye and others kept gaping at the couple in aww...
The trance was finally broken when someone from behind shouted "Saari baatein ishaaro me kar loge kya?"
Maaneet broke apart feeling shying, and all cheered encouraging; none ready to break the spell of magical moment. It felt so surreal, so pure.
Rahul: yarr maan ab bol bhi daalo.
He said, it was too much of waiting already. Maan took her hand in his extended hand, then slowly took her hand towards his face and kissed the back of her palm lightly; geet blushed deeper in shade of red with his all badmashi while the hall filled with oohs' n aahs'
Finally he let his words flow...
Maan: Geet... tum toh jaanti hi ho ki...
Pari: cut cut cut... Ye kya baat hui, agar wo sab jaanti hai toh why are you saying anything? Aise nahi chalega. Thoda romantic hona chahiye kyu gals?
All the girls hooted on that and maan murmered under his breadth "romantic... huh! Iss pari ki shadi aane do, pura account balance kar dunga iska. Nahi.. Why should I wait that much, abhi maza chakhata hu." Thinking of a quick plan he smiled mentally.
Maan: okay okay...! Now will you guys let me say it in my style?
He was so looking forward to propose his beloved finacee in private, but not able to escape this circus with his tactful words he sighed! They all deserve a good tease for spoiling his plan.
Other side all the faces lightened expecting him to propose and they hooted in unison, not knowing the devil plan in his mind.
He waited for them to become silent.
Pari: OK OK silence guys... Let him speak...
Finally as the silence prevailed, each eyes had only one place to look on that was at maaneet, while maaneet themselves couldn't see anything else than each other; as if everything around seized to exist, it was only them and their love. While geet had caught a hint of naughtiness in his eyes, she chose to keep shut and follow him, a little revenge won't be bad if these people can make so much fun of them, thinking that she winked to herself mentally.
While rahul warned pari for going overboard.
Rahul: oye... Control your over expectations. Ye maan itna kar raha hai bahut hai
He whispered in her ears and she nodded understanding not to press the weak nerve much then all the attention shifted to the star couple again as maan continued to speak.
Meanwhile maan started his plan; he acted to be all nervous and fumbling...
Maan: geet... Wo wo
Scratching his head a little he pretended to think like not knowing what to say, while all were waiting with abated breadth.
Maan: wo mujhe kehna tha ki... Ki tum...
He stopped again, and looked at everyone
Maan: no I am embarrassed; u all close ur eyes...
All looked at him like he is alien.
Maan: what! I asked to close ur eyes not to open ur big mouths.
Rahul: then what's the point we asking you to propose her in front of all if we close our eyes?
This time Rahul had to interfere, now this was not fair here they are waiting for his proposal so long and this guy was asking them to close their eyes.
Rahul: come on maan stop your nautanki now and start.
Maan: ok you asked for it; don't blame me later.
He took out a page and started to speak looking into it...

Sub: proof of my love and proposal for marriage
This is in response to your notice under section 143 of love and marriage act dated 8-07-2014 (their engagement date). I present the following evidences to prove my love for you:
- I presented you 15 roses; 1 on 10-07-2014, 3 on 13-07-14,... (so on he gave full detail)
- I presented you 5'6" teddy last week even when it wasn't any special occasion like birthday, etc.
- I sang a song few minutes back, only for you.
- Your mehendi turned out be dark which is considered a proof of my love.
So, it is a kind request to you to please marry me. Should you require more proof(s) of my love for you I would be glad to furnish it.
He finished with a winning grin on his face while all others in the room gaped at him open-mouthed as he had grown 2 horns except geet; well what to say about her she was having most difficult time of her life controlling her laugh.
After some quite moments finally someone spoke up
Pari: was it a proposal or you were writing a letter to Income Tax Officer for your client?
She spoke out in trance and that was it geet couldn't hold anymore she burst out laughing like mad holding her stomach seeing their faces. Maan also stood up and gave a knowing look like "do you want to mess more with me?"
Then all joined in to laugh at the expense of girls who pouted seeing their plan fail; but later they too joined laughing it off.
Slowly the gathering dwindled and after everyone dispersed; only four of them maan-geet, and Rahul-pari remained.
Maan: ahm! Do you guys mind if I drop geet till her room.
He asked for the permission from her official bodyguards as maaneet were not to be left alone till marriage.
Rahul: what no ways. You two are not allowed... ahh ouch!
He screamed as his foot was mercilessly crushed below her heels
Pari: yeah sure... but don't be naughty ok.
Before Rahul could protest, maan swiftly took geet away from their sight. And as soon as maaneet disappeared cat-rat chase started this side.
Rahul: you brainless woman, you almost made me handicapped... ahh!
He shouted out loud at her unable to bear the pain, to which she made a sorry face and caressed his face a bit with her palm,
Pari: aww... does it hurt that bad?
She asked him with concern in her voice while their gaze were locked, he was so lost that he almost forgot the pain but nodded in yes enjoying her concern.
His lost state and happiness didn't last long as next moment he was on ground when she pushed him hard from his chest.
Pari: then that's what you deserve for being so stupid.
She turned and went away twisting her lips murmuring "doesn't even know R of Romance..."
While he still laid their on ground with his one hand hold his injured leg and other one on his paining bum; but a smile on his face.

Other side,
They were walking on the corridor as geet's room was the last one on the floor; they didn't talk anything all the while the only sound was of their footsteps and heartbeats. As they were walking close by their hands did collide with each other giving them strange sensations and they would withdraw immediately and nervously smile at other but then again left their hand loose to repeat the sweet interaction.
Finally they reached outside geet's room, it was moment to part; she opened the door and got inside and was now standing on door facing maan as he still stood at her door.
Maan: ahm... geet toh mai jau?
She looked down slowly chewing her own lower lip, not able to reply him. While he had more things in mind to tell her but not on corridor, he wanted her to invite him inside as he cannot go to her room on his own at this late hour a day before their wedding.
He came little closer and made he look at his eyes by holding her chin.
Maan: this is the last night for us to sleep in different rooms. From tomorrow we will have same address.
He whispered bending close to her ears and he saw her cheeks color up even before his words would have reached her mind.
Her blush was making him lost too, but he had a task in hand so he immediately withdrew from her and cleared his throat to bring her back from la la land.
Maan: waise geet I have heard that when someone comes to drop you; it is basic manners to invite him inside.
He spoke in a flat voice and she got alert seeing the sudden change in his tone, her mind was blank and only after a good 4-5 minutes she was stable enough and asked him inside.
He closed the door behind him and kept looking at her face glowing with his love as his eyes reflected the same emotion. They stood gazing at each other for a while when suddenly he bent on his knees again in front of her.
Geet: yeh... yeh aap kya kar rahe hain?
She asked not able to understand what he was upto again kneeling in front of her...
Maan: shh... let me speak.
She didn't say anything seeing a hint of nervousness in his eyes as he took a deep breath in, she waited for him to speak.
Maan: geet... You know I am not into all this romantic things; nor do I know those cheesy lines which you might have heard around you. All I have to give you is this heart, and today I pledge that to you. You have all the rights over me, my heart, my mind; everything now belongs to you first then to me. Please accept me in your life and make my life worth living.
He said all in one breath with close eyes; while her eyes opened wide in surprise as she wasn't expecting anything of this sort as she knew the type of person that maan was. She kept gaping at him not uttering a word while he was waiting with abated breath for her reply.
He opened his eyes not hearing anything from her and was awed to her expressions, so pure and cute she looked with that surprised face, eyes widened and mouth in O shape.
Maan: geet, reply soon dear if you care a bit for my kness.
He said to break her trance and she immediately came to match his level. She held his hand and hugged it close to her heart as she gave him her reply...
Geet: and this heart belongs to you. You give meaning to existence. You complete me.
She couldn't go anymore so left his hand and hugged him hard over flowing with her emotions which he reciprocated immediately. They stayed like that for few moments absorbing love emanating from the other, their heartbeats talking its own language and their breaths saying their condition to other.
After they parted, they sat there hand in hand, their back resting on wall and her head resting on his shoulder.
Geet: why didn't you say these all things down there
She asked out of curiosity
Maan: because I didn't want to
He replied still lost in her playing with her fingers while she frowned at his reply and faced him now
Geet: matlab?
He too turned to face her
Maan: matlab yeh geet... ki I wanted to say my heart to you but not publically in front of all. I believe that what is between us, should stay between us because you my dear - are too private an affair for me.
She was touched by his thoughts about them; she knew he wasn't someone to show-off but the realization of how possessive he is about his things and how intimate they have come emotionally that even a day away from marriage she felt already being a part of his life.
She kept staring at him with love filled eyes...
Maan: aise kya dekh rahi ho hm...?
He asked not seeing her responding and still she didn't; also he'd got a hint of her getting emotional with his love so immediately decided to change the mood.
Maan: and haan, by not saying all this there I was just trying to save you from embarrassment. I mean just think if all this happened in front of all, the way you hugged me so tight; then you will get embarrassed in...
Oops! He didn't even complete and was showered with light punches on his shoulder from her soft hands.
Maan: geet... geet ruko mujhe lag jaegi.
But she didn't stop until she was tired. He left a long breath when she stopped and started to crib looking upwards...
Maan: dekha babji kya zamana aa gaya hai; abhi shadi bhi nhi hui aur meri biwi mujhe maar rahi hai. You are not being fair with me haan!
He complained making pouty face; off course he'd learned that from geet only and she started to hit him more seeing him imitating her like that.
Few minutes later he left her room bidding her good night with a sweet kiss... on her forehead. Not to mention he also took away her sleep with him, and now she was lying on the bed with red cheeks enjoying thinking about her day when her phone buzzed again.

A/N: really sorry but couldn't accommodate the teaser part in here as it would become too big of an update and also the scene might lose its charm.
