CID Written Update May 15, 2015: Lootera Monkey Man

In a bank, people are withdrawing money. One lady (I'll call her the screaming lady or SL for short from now on.) is leaving when the door bangs into her and monkey man enters. (He looks more like a mad scientist. 🤣) He starts walking weirdly, scaring the people in the bank. He shows a chit, demanding money, and gets even more crazy and pulls out a gun. (Oh god if I was part of this robbery I would be laughing my guts out, not getting scared. 🤣) The manager comes out as the monkey man shoots the guard. He grabs the SL who was leaving and the manager quickly takes him towards the money. Then he grabs the assistant manager and motions that he knows that there are 2 keys to the vault. (I'm guessing the 2 are manager and assistant manager by the way.) He locks everyone else except the manager, the assistant manager, and the SL. The SL keeps begging to be let go. (Err by the way the hallway looked like the hospital that they usually show in CID. 😛) The manager and assistant manager open the vault and walk off to a side and go down on their knees. As the monkey man is opening the vault, outside a girl creeps out and reaches the button to call for police when she hears a bullet. She ducks and sees the monkey man leave the bank empty-handed. Then she presses the button. (Well directed scene.)

A few minutes later everyone rushes to the vault to find the SL trying to looks hocked as they see the manager and the assistant manager examining a man to see if he's dead. No one recognizes the man.

In the vault, a little later, Abhijeet, Daya, Freddy, Nik, Purvi, Shreya, and Vansh are examining the body. (Err shouldn't police reach the site? Why did CID reach the site?) Nik looks for the bullet. Freddy doesn't find anything in the pockets. The duo and Purvi step out to question the people standing there. The SL, manager, and assistant manager tell the 3 that they were bent, facing away, when they heard a bullet, and a little while later, after they thought it was safe, when they checked they saw the dead man. (I like that the flashback was shown while the 3 are talking. At least this flashback has some motive.) Daya finds it unbelievable that they don't know anything. Abhijeet also doesn't understand how the man got into the vault. The assistant manager then says that he got locked into the vault once and he was only able to survive for about 15 minutes. Abhijeet asks them how the man got the vault's keys and Daya suspects the 2. Abhijeet says money was stolen.(Err...how? The monkey man left empty-handed.) The assistant manager mentions that the monkey man knew that the keys were always with them. Daya suspects there's an inside man. Freddy suspects that there is a hidden route into the vault. Nik doesn't find any bullet. Abhijeet wonders who this monkey man is. Daya and Nik go out to question people about this monkey man as Abhijeet looks around the vault in thought.

Outside Daya, Nik, Purvi, and the suddenly prakat Ishita start questioning people across the road about the monkey man. (Really. She just suddenly appeared. She wasn't there in the previous scene and then she's suddenly there.) No one has seen anything though. Daya wonders how the monkey man disappeared without anyone seeing him. They head back.

Freddy tells Abhijeet that there's no hidden way into the vault. Shreya shows the CCTV footage on her tablet. (Really? The CCTV footage can be downloaded to a tablet now?) Shreya says he came in about half an hour before. Abhijeet says we'll question the staff.

Daya, Nik, Purvi, and Ishita start searching the bank compound for our supposed monkey man. Daya spots blood splatter in a corner. In a bucket above the splatter he finds a bloody shirt, a wig, and a fake moustache. He calls Purvi upstairs. Nik and Ishita also reach there. They realize that the man made himself look like a monkey man. Daya shows the shirt and says that he may have been shot as well. Purvi wonders how he got shot if there was only one shot. (Maybe the bullet hit two people. Just suggesting.)

Abhijeet asks if something happened in the bank half an hour before the robbery. The assistant manager asks how it's related to the robbery. Abhijeet says that it was done so that the man could get into the vault. The manager finds that doubtful because they came and went to the vault several times. An employee says a lady fainted, but she isn't here and may have left. She was asking about a new account. Abhijeet says it was planned. He tells Shreya to pull her photo from the CCTV footage. Freddy pulls Abhijeet aside and asks why they killed the man in the vault. (Honestly this is going quite good so far. Yeah I'm a bit angry with the investigative jumps, but I'm liking this so far.)

Out in the parking lot, Purvi spots more blood. They start following the blood trail and reach the back gate. Daya says that the man left by the back gate. They continue following the blood trail when it suddenly disappears. Daya says that it means the man got into a vehicle of some sort and question the auto rickshaw wale who are at the stand. (Wah so convenient.) But the autowale don't know anything. Daya asks them for help to find out if anyone took a passenger from this gate between 11 and 12 and he was wounded. They agree and we see the matter spreading.

A little while later, the autowala who took the monkey man says that he took the man to City Hospital.

Daya, Purvi, Nik, and Ishita reach City Hospital and Purvi asks about anyone admitted who was hurt. (Couldn't you just ask directly about a bullet wound?) But there is no man admitted. Nik finds that weird as Raju, the autowala, said that he dropped the man here. Daya asks if anyone came here a while back who was very tense. The secretary says Ankush came here and points them to the man. Daya grabs Ankush on the shoulder where he's hurt and Ankush begs not to stop the operation and will say everything. Daya looks through the window to see the young boy and Ankush begs for the operation to happen. Daya asks for the 50,000 rupees back as they are stolen. Ankush again begs for the operation to happen. The doctor agrees to return the money and then Daya says that CID will pay the money. He signs and hands over a check. (Aww...this scene is so poignant. He didn't bend to break the law, but he still saved the young life.) Then Daya reveals the bullet wound.

Later, Ankush's wife asks what he did. Daya says he committed a robbery and shot 2 people of which one is dead. Ankush refuses shooting 2 people. He says that he did commit the robbery to save his child. He says he heard about the monkey man and so he decided to become the monkey man to commit the robbery. Nik blames him for robbing 5 crore. But Ankush says that he just stole 1 lakh. Daya refuses to believe him and says that he killed a man in the vault and stole a lakh. In flashback, Ankush says that he opened the vault door to see the man inside and the bullet went through him and into Ankush. (Yes! Yes! Yes! This happened in CSI already btw. So it's used.) He took the 1 lakh and left. They realize that there was a second person in the vault. Daya says that someone in the bank is involved. Daya asks who helped you from the bank. Ankush says that the man kept trying to stop me and names Balwant. Daya refuses saying that he knew about Ankush's plan and used it to steal the rest of the 5 crore.

The next day, Abhijeet (look very handsome in black and grey ☺️), Freddy (looking handsome in the teal t-shirt), Shreya, and Vansh demand to meet Balwant. Abhijeet demands to know where the rest of the money is. Balwant says that he just joked about robbing a bank and he didn't know that Ankush would do something like that. He says that he had taken the day off yesterday.

The 4 are standing in front of the vault. Shreya and Freddy cite some questions. Abhijeet says someone knew that Ankush was coming in as a monkey man and committed the bigger robbery. Abhijeet says someone knew about the plan and committed the bigger robbery and murder and tried to blame Ankush. Abhijeet is sure that it's someone from the bank. Shreya agrees that the keys were used to open the vault. Freddy says that the manager and assistant manager have the keys. Abhijeet asks if there is any background. Freddy says we got nothing from following them and there's nothing in the family.

At the assistant manager's house, Gauri, his wife, asks if anything has happened about the robbery. Then he gets a call that 10 crore was stolen from the bank, not 5 crore. (CID ka plan. I just know it!)

At the manager's house, the maid keeps the food and the manager apologizes for yelling. He gets a similar call. The maid hears it.

The lady who fainted (FL from now on) reaches a site where the maid calls her a traitor. The maid says that we were supposed to be equal partners and you said that 5 crore was stolen, but 10 crore was stolen and she heard her boss saying that. The FL believes it's a trap to reach them. Then another woman arrives there and the FL pulls out her gun, but the woman tells the FL to put it down. The new woman is Gauri and she says her husband said the same thing. The FL believes that they were cheated.

They reach a house and call a man Manoj. Manoj turns out to be one of the customers in the bank. The 3 demand their shares. Gauri and the maid made a fake key at their houses and Manoj says that he shot his own friend as well. Gauri demands their 2 crore each. Manoj says that only 5 crore was stolen and demands to know who told them. Daya says we did. Suddenly someone starts firing bullets. Daya tells Nik, Shreya, and Divya to take the 4 culprits out. Purvi and Daya start looking for the shooter. Suddenly 2 men coume out and attack Daya. Another one attacks Nik. (Wait!!! Nik was outside! Ab woh undar kya kar raha hai?!!) Purvi enters a bedroom and the SL from the beginning kicks Purvi. Purvi kicks her back and the gun flies into Nik's hand.

Daya asks how come no one saw Manoj. In flashback SL tells CID that after the monkey man left, Manoj also left with the bag. Daya announces the punishment dialogue.
