Hi,
Recently I have come across this article about how to find out if someone is pretentious or not.What are the signs of a pretentious person??🤣
It says..
In order for a person to be considered pretentious , they must meet most of these criteria.
1 He/She has to have a grandiose sense of self-importance, marked by an extravagant or presumptuous outward show (exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior). They think wayyy too high of themselves. As if they are born to set examples for others.
2 Is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty or ideal love.
3 believes that he/she is special and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high status people.
4 requires excessive admiration.
5 Boringness runs through every f**king nerves of a pretentious person. A major giveaway. All pretentious men/women have somewhat boring personality.
6.They want to impress anything that moves. They won't stop until everyone knows how great they are.
7. inclined to teach or lecture others too much.
8.Lacks empathy e.g., is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others.
9. Believes the whole World is envious of him/her.
10. regularly show arrogant, haughty behaviour or attitude.
Now we don't know these bollycelebs personally but from offscreen segments, interviews etc, who do u think give very strong pretentious vibe??
And pls don't say all of them are pretentious . May be they are but then there won't be any fun in picking up the right ones. For example Akshay Kumar or Ranveer Singh, kajol, Vidya - they don't give me pretentious vibe at all. At the same time SRK, SALMAN, KATRINA- they can have thousands of bad qualities but they don't exactly come across as pretentious to me. Just my opinion though!!!
Celebs who first come to my mind who ticks most of the points above are-
For example- Aamir Khan
Aishwaria Rai Baccahan
Rani Mukherjee
--- these people tick all the right boxes for me.(1-10) (You like to differ?? Most Welcome)
then you have Deepika Padukone, Hrithik Roshan, Ranbir Kapoor they too meet quite a few criteria, specially Hrithik.
Some may find Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra pretentious too. They do tick a few boxes but I don't consider them that coz Both are quite entertaining off-screen. Pretentious ppl can never be that.
From filmmakers- Sanjay Leela Bhansali- and to some extent Karan Johar.
Who do you think is the most pretentious celeb among them, or do you feel there are others who I have missed out??
