I want to know why havn't BV ever shown a case where the girl herself is very happy about child marriage as she hates studies. One of my friend said that when she was in 12 std, she met her classmate who had become a mother of 1 year old child. My friend had said that her family doesn't really follow the ritual of child marriage because her older sister married after graduation and even after marriage completed her post-graduation. This friend of hers wasn't interest in studies at all but she was very good in fine arts. Yet she never pursued any of subjects of her interest and actually chose herself to get married so early. Even in this case, child marriage is wrong even though the girl is happy, the in-laws are not bad and nothing is really wrong in her life. In BV i never saw a child bride who really wanted to get married and did not want to pursue her education. They all seemed to love studies (Won't count Sugna because she was already married and never got to live her married life before Shyam)

Some men and women dont want to get married even if they reach marriageable age due to various reasons. Nowadays marriage is not a priority. Some girls and boys never find the perfect match and choose to remain bachelors and spinsters. Some prefer live in as in the recent movie OKK by Mani Ratnam.

You have raised a very interesting point here.

Because serial is to prove that Child marriage is wrong. Message sake only they show child marriage as bad. They didn't show the real problems that might arise even if the girl was happy about the marriage, guy and sasural are good. Main problem could be early pregnancy and incompatibility arising later. Sugna's case - she was happy with her 1st marriage, they showed her getting pregnant before Gauna. But they killed pratap, so incompatibility track was left out. They could have shown that with Jagya - Anandi. If Gauri track was handled in a different way they could have given a real message. But then CVs want drama. One person should be made wrong. Nimboli's track also they are doing the same.

I have slightly different perspective on this.

Girls getting married at the age of 15-16-17 is unfortunately quite common thing in our society.. In almost every village or in economically backward sections in most of the cities, you can see such cases. Simple because either they can't afford to get the girls educated further, they don't understand the importance of education, the girls themselves are not interested in continuing education, or there is a mentality that a girl should be married off as early as possible. Likely to be as in the example that you have given.

Child marriage as a custom or tradition is different side of the story, where both the boy and girl can be married off in an age as early as 8/9 or even before that.. Here the kids won't even understand the meaning of marriage, so there is no question of them entering into it willingly or unwillingly.

BalikaVadhu writers seem to be focusing more on the second kind of scenario.. Yes, there is still a possibility that the groom's family turns out to be good and things go smooth in the bride's life. BV showed that to some extent with Anandi intially. Bhairon/Sumi were always good and supportive to Anandi, Anadi was shown to be happy with her life in her early adulthood days. They also showed that with Lalsingh and his wife.. Lalsingh and his wife are leading a happy, content life today (may be with kids), but that doesn't mean their child marriage can be termed as good,
