Different scriptures say different things. According to Bhagavat Purana, Vishnu is eternal i.e. no origin. A lotus comes out of Vishnu's navel and Brahma comes out of that lotus. Shiv(Mahesh) comes out of Brahma's forehead.

I think everyone originated from Vishnu............because almost all of humanity originated from Kashyap....who according to akhl's posts is an avatar of Vishnu????

So, I'm guessing all of humanity originated from Vishnu???

As per Bhagavatam and many other Puranas, Vishnu is the ultimate source of everything.
Brahma is the common ancestor of all beings. Since Brahma came from Vishnu, therefore Vishnu is origin of everything.

However, we should also keep in mind that Shiv Puran and some other Puranas consider Lord Shiv as the source of everything.

Yea. Depending on the God you worship the most/believe in, then that's who created you.

For Brahins-it's mostly Brahma
For normal Hindus-it's either Vishu or Shiva.

If Shiva Came from Forehead of Bhrama, then why Shri Rama worship Lord Shiva??
Shiv-shakti is before the origin of everything, so i don't agree with your statements..

in Shiv Puran Shiv is ultimate, in Vishnu Puran Vishnu is ultimate, but where are originated from ???

Priyanka,
When I answer from scriptures, then I answer based on what scriptures say. I never claim that what is written in scriptures is literally correct nor do I claim that they are not literally correct. I just answer when the scriptures say.
According to Bhagavat Puran, Siva did came from in between the eyebrows i.e. from forehead of Brahma.
According to Shiv Puran also Lord Shiv came from the forehead of Brahma but Lord Shiv existed even before that. You may ask how it is possible that Lord Shiv was present even before being born? The answer is that Lord Shiv existed earlier. But he chose to appear from the forehead of Lord Brahma. As an analogy, Lord Vishnu was born as the son of Kaushalya. This son was Lord Ram. But Lord Vishnu existed even before that.

Something happened that caused Shiva to come from Brahma's forhead...I think this is related to the incident when Shiva cut off Brahma's fifth head?????

I don't know...but there's a reasoning behind that.......I just can't put my finger on it....

But as far as I've heard, Shiva has no beginning and no end......I'm pretty sure Shiva Puran states this....

so yes....i agree that Shiva existed even before he came out of Brahma's forehead....

All scriptures of Hinduism say that Parabrahm is the supreme. They also agree that Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh are different aspects of Parabrahm. But they differ in which of these three to be given the biggest importance. In later posts, I will tell about the origin of Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh based on different scriptures. After that, I will try to analyze all of them and find what is common.
