The Origin of Lord Vishnu and Shiva-Shakti is still a Mystery for humans

Prabrahm is supreme. It is also called as Brahman(nominative is Brahm). Lest one should not confuse with a caste called Brahman, I will continue to use the word Parabrahm.

Parabrahm is eternal, genderless, omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent. Human language cannot adequately describe Parabrahm. Since it is eternal, the question of how Parabrahm originated does not arise.

Scriptures call Parabrahm as Satyam, Jnanam, Anantam i.e. Truth, Knowledge, and Infinite. They also call Parabrahm as Sat, Chit, Anand i.e. Existence, Consciousness, Bliss. Also Satyam, Shivam, Sundaram i.e. Truth, Auspiciousness, Beauty. Its nature is with form, without form and also beyond form and formlessness.

Parabrahm is the ultimate source of everything in the universe including time, space, energy, matter and anything else. Even the three prime Gods Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh are, directly or indirectly, manifestations of Parabrahm.

Om(or AUM) is a syllable, which is the combination of three sounds vowel a, vowel u, and consonant m.
This sound is a symbol that represents Absolute i.e. Brahm. Since everything comes from Brahm and since Brahm is the essence of everything, therefore Om represents the entire universe - what was, what is and what will be; it represents the essense of everything.

Om is the sound that existed when the universe was created. It is the sound vibration that pervades the entire universe. Unlike other sounds, the sound Om is anahat, which means that the sound Om does not require any two objects to be struck. We create a sound by striking one object against another. But Om is exception in the sense that it exists even when no such striking happens.

The three letters of Om i.e. A,U,M represent various things:-
1. A represents waking state, U dreaming state, M deep sleep i.e. sleep without any dreams. When one keeps on chanting Om, then a time comes when he does not hear any external sound. This soundless state is called Turiya state. In this state also a person hears Om but now the sound of Om is not because he is chanting it, and also not because somebody or something else is producing this sound. He hears this sound in his heart even though there is no material source of this sound.

2. A,U, and M represent the three worlds Bhu, Bhuvar and Swarg.

3. A represents Creation, U represents Preservation and M represents Destruction.

4. A represents aspiration to realise God, U represents union with God and M represents manifestation of God in us.

5. The three letters represent the three gunas; A represents rajas, U represents satva and M represents tamas.

Apart from the above five, the three letters represent many other things. Since Om represents the entire universe - past, present, and future, therefore no matter for how long we describe the virtues of Om, we will not be able to finish describing all its virtues.
