3.30 pm Shane Watson has walked out for the toss. The Ahmedabad heat is a topic that comes up again and again in every conversation today. Watson and MS Dhoni say it will be hard, and Dhoni adds the heat does affect the batsmen. Chennai Super Kings have won the toss and they will bat. "Maybe the bowlers will get some help later," he says. They are playing with the same XI.

Watson doesn't mind batting first. "Hopefully the heat doesn't cook up too much," he says. He has replaced Tim Southee in the line-up. They have made another change, bringing in left-arm spinner Ankit Sharma for Dhawal Kulkarni.
