Q. Why is that so few Hindi films do well despite despite the craze in the country for them?
Ans. It can be said they were a craze, 20- 30 years back buttoday there are many other forms of entertainment and the bigger problem is most films are niche.There will also be a craze for a Dhoom 3 or Kick but these types are so few and you can't blame the audience for not being crazy about a Baby, Roy, NH 10, Badlapur or Detective Byomkesh Bakshi.

There were sooo many flops in 80s and 90s compared to now. If u list the flops of some the known stars of 80s and 90s, ur head will spin.

How can u explain the 100 Crs, 200 Crs and 300 Crs club then? Is it coz some fims dont reach it? BW is in much better shape now than ever in terms of money. A flop star gets more moeny than what MPK did on BO way back.

So, if u r gonna ignore inflation adjusted figures, then guess what? MPK, HAHK and HSSH combined cant cross 100 Crs which a sid movie can do today. 😆

MPK & HAHK were both WOM hits and had lukewarm starts while HSSH under performed finally managing a HIT status. Not to mention Sooraj has nowhere the brand value that Hirani has. Hirani is a much bigger director than Sooraj.

All three combos create a much bigger buzz than Brajatya does IMO.

Ans. Lifetime totals are about content which is jnown after release but Rowdy Rathore will difficult to reach even if the content is good, That film had very strong word of mouth and ran for ten weeks in some single screens where even 3 Idiots or PK could not match that in the same theatre. Its hard to see that happening, Baby it have to beat to be a success.

Even going by BOI's numbers K3 Bo numbers r way ahead of MPK, HAHK, HSSH combined.

I used BOI's verdict for K3 and called it BB coz i knew some1 will jump if I say ATBB. 😉 Coz I blv ATBB is very loosly used verdict lately. 😛

Go check BOI's calculator abt Roshans combo films BO. 😉
