Rishi made the decision after YJHD became a huge hit...he said that like the Khans, Ranbir too should get a percentage of the profits and charge this much.

To be honest, I remember when Hrithik Roshan came out and Rakesh was deciding the prices he should charge, Rishi Kapoor came out and said that Rakesh shouldn't get into these things, let Hrithik decide for himself.

AND since Ranbir debuted, Rishi has been deciding how much he should charge. He decided that Ranbir should charge as much as Hrithik is charging, but HR is not taking a part of the profits. Soon after, Ranbir's films that released never delivered the same expectation as YJHD...

"Baseless Rumour"- All Quarters deny Rishi Kapoor & Phantom Films Confrontation

This morning, a report in an entertainment website stated that Rishi Kapoor had pulled up the Phantom Films' team over reduced compensation that his son Ranbir Kapoor was receiving for Bombay Velvet'.

When asked though, everyone involved denies this story entirely. The film's spokesperson had denied that any such incident had taken place, and calls it entirely untrue.

Rishi Kapoor also (in a rather angry mood) advised us to not focus on such juvenile' stories; he denies this incident summarily.

Reactions from Phantom Films are awaited.

It is worth noting that, ever since it went on floor, Bombay Velvet, has been facing negative coverage in a targeted manner. Sources inside Phantom films say that for reasons best left unstated, a section of the media continues to target the film regularly.
