Manik Malhotra pehli baar haar gaya...its over!! It hurts and how to see him utter those words in sheer hopelessness!! The fighter that he is, the survivor that he is...the friend, the human that he is!!
But lets begin at the beginning...when Pandit gate crashes MaNan's love fest...bringing a fire breathing Ams with him!! His ultimate weapon...his ace!! And the look Ams gives Manik, had already warned him about the unpleasantness of what was to come!! YOu see...he knows bad!! He does bad after all!! Nothing new or unexpected here coz if we look carefully Pandit is on his way out and no other cameo is in the pipeline, so it was very clear Ams was going to be the next track...how Manik wins her over...and how she sees the truth!! So his bad impression was a must...for story progression!! In all honesy...that is exactly how the world sees Manik Malhotra...a rich, spoilt, bully that uses his power to win all his battles...lest any one dare stand against him!! That's coz he always wanted the world to perceive him that way...only a few choses ones blessed enough to see the real Manik!!
Coming back...Ams caustic words, her furious countenance, her piercing eyes said it all...ironic how the power he always wielded is now being used against him...his biggest asset is turning into his biggest liability!! Trustee's son indeed!! Ams took his girl away...whisked her away in a jiff...noteworthy...the nod that an understanding and cool Manik gives to a flustered Nandini..go ahead girl...its okay!! And the inhuman smug satisfied smirk that could not be wiped off the Pandit's face...his gloating, loathing face!! So much was said between the two ..yet no words necessary!! Each opponent knowing what the other was upto!!
Fab 3..i hate to say this...they will always remain Fab 5 for me...forever!! They have come such a long way...really becoming Fab in the process!! They have matured beyond their years, so wise, as they faced their disillusioned friend!! Yes, Dhruv the truth is always bitter, unpalatable and so you yourself cannot digest the poison you insist on spewing every where!! They all said what was sorely needed...Cabir...you deserved not one but more punches...may be that would knock some sense into you, blaming an ever supportive and innocent Nandini...Mukti...I was worth all the hating and loathing yet she stood by me...#respect...yet there is no one blinder than a man not determined to see the light...Dhruv remains mistaken...dragging Aliya's hurt in the matter. Beautiful response by Alya...how has this girl grown..kudos...they were not meant to be!! MaNan now are destined...she can see the difference!! It was not about love ...but it was all about ego..Nandini's no dented his male pride and so unlike her, Dhruv could not move on!! If only her wise words could help the foolish Dhruv!! One day...may be one day he will look back with regret..but today he just walked away with his heavier than love ego and bruised self pride!!
They rushed to where they were needed the most!! Their expressions so filled with helplessness as they watch their leader...the strongest and toughest of all from the door frame!! Manik...so many wounds...so many bruises...cut...lacerated...bleeding...how many times will destiny test him?? How much is in store of this wise beyond his years 19 year old...how much more will life show him...!! Today again he turns to music...like he always has does...for years...his salvation...his escape!! Yet...there is a huge difference now...every time he turned to it in blind fury...savage anger...today a marked difference...there was no anger...just a vacuum !! A vacuum of pain, a sea of shock, an ocean of raw agony!! His stance helpless...his posture...hopeless!! He looks at his hand, the one that fisted his buddy...with a blank stare!! While the rest stare at him in mute agony!! In they go...all three...trying to pick up the pieces of their broken friend...their hero and patch him together again!!
He tries to make excuses..lest any one sees his pain...he was practicing!! Noteworthy a man who could not survive without music for an hour, has not touched his guitar in days...does that tell you what all he has been going through?? How affected and lost he must be with all that has been happening to him in the last few day??? Mukti says it all, we know you...your pain...your hurt, don't try and hide it!! A wry smile...nope no hurt and no hiding...the pinnacle of hurt was already reached and crossed...when he had cried his heart out in his Nandu's arms...shattered beyond repair while she held him together!! That was hurt...Manik's hurt...today was just shock...that his buddy could stoop so low as to say what he did to his girl!! Also shock that he..Manik could raise his hand on his soul brother!! Simple words...Dhruv could lose it all...but we could not...never in his wildest dreams could he lose his cool on Dhruv...but he did and how unforgiving he is ...we all know!! Cabir's words...he asked for it..it was totally justified did not ease the guilt! His concern for Dhruv still gnawing on his insides...how was he?? Wish I could...!! All three of them avoid his eyes...and he reads the bitter truth!! Sighs and tries to walk out!! And Alya who had been silent till now speaks up...may be he will realize and come back...a hopeless prayer for miracle etched on her face!!
And then he says the unthinkable!! Its' over...The Manik Malhotra is defeated...pehli baar main haar gaya!! Remember the guy nine months back we started with?? How we hated him..his strength, his brutish ways, his bullying power...remember the hero who never gave up or gave in...today he stands lost, defeated...having lost a pillar to his life forever!! Such pain in his words...such a shattering grief in his eyes...sheer hopelessness at losing his soul...one more blow...and how many more to go?? He asks silently...he give up and walks away...leaving three who were always growing in his shadow...determined to bring back their Hero!! You see they know their Manik Malhotra could never be defeated...their Manik could never lose ...could never give up...he was simply resting...
SO true that...check him out in the evening!! Reposing next to the serene waters...deep in thoughts!! Thinking, analyzing, strategizing about how to defeat the evil Pandit and get his Nandu!! So close...so very close...they were one soul...yet so far...he could touch her yet she was out of his grasp and hands were pulling her farther and farther away each day!! He knows he is being checkmated...and thus plays it all from his heart!! The message he leaves that girl..all heart!! Sheer desperation, fear, frustration for the one he loves!! So easy to express in front of a stranger...so easy to spill it all...his guts...his heart..his emotions!! Coz u see he was talking about his Nandu...and he could fill books on her (one question...he says it all, too often about how she is special and means the world to him...always singing praises of his girl and they are all well deserved by his star...can we once hear our Nandu talk about her guy...can we hear what she feels about her Monster..ever?? Thirsting to hear her express herself about her special man...or is that too much to ask???) And if that plea of love does not bring any human to aid...what will??
On the other hand...Fab 3 are at work now!! His army slogging away, planning and plotting!! They know he is cornered and has withdrawn and so more reason for them to pick up the baton from tired hands and attack on all fronts!! Classic ..vintage Fab 5...sigh...how I miss that bunch!! They were a terror...a force to reckon with...an institution of fear...how I miss that attitude...that chip on their shoulders!! Those were the golden days...wish Fab 5 get their groove back...would love to see these gods of trouble in action once again!! Its time to brew some mischief, stir some spells...witches! And I hope we get to see them at their best again...executing impossible plans and pulling them off boldly with elaan!!! They will get there...this time...He needs them to perform miracles and by God they will...
Meanwhile...his Nandu calls him...desperate and scared out of her wits...her voice had me scared!! Everything okay ...he asks hurriedly?? Her answer quiets him down...she was afraid, in the depths of strange fears...the fear of losing him...the fear of fate intervening again in Ams form and snatching their happiness away from them! She fears losing her monster...and is seeking reassurance from him desperately...she needs to see him..touch him ...to be in his arms...so the world feels alright!! But her monster is wiser now...does not want to create waves and ripples in quiet waters!! He knows the impression he has created on someone as important as Ams is not favorable and he does not want to do any further damage...so he controls!! For a guy who could never stop himself from seeing his star...how difficult it must be to say no when his girl was so insistent on seeing him!! How hard to deny when she asked so stubbornly to see him...that too for the first time..and he denied her and himself the pleasure!! Manik has grown wiser indeed...his refusal has his girl shocked!! HIs simple pleasure at being needed, being wanted by his girl!! Her stubbornness giving him some comfort...it was the first time his Nandu demanded his presence...feels so good to be so needed!! If only...he sighs in frustration...
But little does he know...that his girl can always surprise him!! She has all the zest and spirit and spit fire that he will ever need or want...tomorrow a shocking and pleasant surprise awaits him...she does what she thinks and feels is right...whatever the consequence...Manik...your demure and contained Nandu is changed forever..all thanks to your love that has given her wings...you are her spirit and her strength...you are her impulsiveness...her adventure...and tomorrow we cant wait for or get enough of...water will be ablaze...liquid fire !!
