Trained Singers?

Hi have been a silent reader. In II I really like th fact that untrained singers get a chance to show their talent. They give a diff feel while singing. As far as the trained lot, they have not at all been consistent. No offence to any fans. Emon should go next. Why? Well because he is a trained singer and knows the nuances of singing but does not have good pronunciation at all. Also his songs have no feel in them. At least for me. That's very impt. Amit is definitely a good singer, beautiful voice, puts a lot of feel and emotions in his songs. Prashant has a beautiful voice and can sing well some types of songs. Being an untrained singer he does well. Now my all time fav...ANKITA... She is really a class apart. In no reality show have I seen a GIRL have the stage charisma, voice and personality that this girl has.

Javed said it right, she makes you feel the song via her singing. Yes in 3 galas she has faltered but so have all the TRAINED singers who should be a lot more technically sound than her. She is the ONLY one with GUTS to perform and sing and has been great for all the other galas with the singing + performance combo!

I really hope she wins. She takes criticism positively and works on it!

I agree with you. Judges are harsher with trained singers. Even Sonu used to correct Amey and Karunya for tiny mistakes in their songs. If an untrained singer had sung the song the same way, they would have got fantastic comments. But with trained singers, judges are more strict.

Emon started learning only a year back so I don't think he can be equated to the likes of Puja, Richa and Smita who are getting training for so many years.

I don't think training alone matters much in these competitions. I liked Richa at first but her lisp was evident and she was not impressive and was one of the weakest links. Deepali and Puja didn't appeal to many. Emon is constantly criticized. Many love Amit and even though he is not trained, concentrates on his singing. I think contestants like Parleen are impressive and if they get some training then they will reach better heights than trained singers like Richa.
